the sun was shining through your window, outside of your curtains, on you. it was bright but you could practically smell the cold air coming through the crack of your window, you wanted to sleep in, be lazy for a bit but some body had other plans. you heard your phone ringing and sat up leaning against the headboard to answer the call.
"hello?"
"heyy baby do you wanna go somewhere?"
you didn't know why but the pet name sent a shiver down your body, you didn't know what you were feeling but you brushed it off replying.
"sure bils, when do you wanna go?"
"ill be there ina few, be ready"
you were excited to see her, your childhood best friend, you haven't seen each other in a few years. you were sad when you moved years earlier but you were seeing her now so it was okay.
"okay ill be ready, bye bils"
"bye baby, see you sooonn"
that damn name again, you still didn't know what you were feeling. maybe you were just excited to see her but this feeling didn't feel like 'excited', it felt maybe 'nervous'? you brushed off the feeling, pushing it down.
you got ready in a white tube top and some cute jean shorts you found when you were thrifting, you didn't know where you guys were going but it was summer so you dressed light anyways. you did your hair in waves, and did some makeup but only mascara and lipgloss, not a lot.
when you started putting your converse on you heard billies dodge challenger revving up outside, you quickly finished putting your shoes on and grabbed your purse.
when you got outside you saw billie leaning against the hood of her car, looking at you. was she checking you out?
no she wasn't, she was just looking at you.
you shook the feeling off, and greeted her by hugging her.
"hi bils, i haven't seen you in so longg"
"i know, im actually so happen to see youu"
she said, hugging you back and resting her head in the crook of your neck, rocking back and forth. you loved hugging people especially her, her hugs were always the best, you felt so comfortable in her arms. she rubbed your back and let go to open the passenger car door for you.
"here m'lady"
she said it in a fake posh way that made you laugh and your cheeks heat up.
when she got in her seat, she gave you her phone to play music from. you chose sofia by clairo, your absolute favorite artist besides billie.
you were singing the lyrics and you heard billie singing them with you. after the song was done, others were playing but you asked where you guys were going.
"where are we going?"
you asked, leaning towards her, crossing your arms on the center console.
"i cant tell you, its a surprisee"
she said grinning, looking at you then back at the road. you huffed and leaned back in your seat.
"why can't you tell me?
"because baby then it wont be a surprise"
you said "fine" and started looking outside the window of her car, seeing birds flying over in the sky. you loved looking at the sky.
after a bit, billie parked and got out, opening your car door for you. you said thank you and grabbed your purse.
"okay where are we?"
"i haven't showed anybody this place yet cause i wanted you to see it first"
you saw a beach down a path that was hidden with rocks and trees. you jumped with joy and started running towards the beach, billie was laughing at your actions knowing you loved beaches. That's why she showed you.
she had liked you for as long as she remembered but you had moved away so she couldn't act on it.
when she caught up with you, you guys sat down on the sand. after a few minutes, you took off your tube top saying you wanted to swim.
"bils do you wanna swim?"
you were taking off your jean shorts too, you didn't care how you looked in front of her because you've known her for so long, it didn't matter.
"yeah let's go"
she said looking at you for a bit, hoping you didn't notice before she took off her baggy shirt and her baggy shorts, she constantly wore everywhere.
you guys were in your underwear and bras jumping in the water, it was like when you guys would swim when you were kids but it felt different now. like an energy was hiding but you didn't know what it was.
after swimming for a bit you guys put your clothes back on, regretting packing more clothes but it was fine. you guys ran around and picked out seashells for each other, like you did when you were younger.
after a bit you guys were tired so billie grabbed a blanket from her car and laid it down, so you guys could lay down and watch the clouds move. you guys saw different things in the clouds, bunnies, cats, dogs and maybe frogs.
you felt someone staring, and you turned to see billie looking at you. when you asked she didn't even respond, she just kept looking at you with hearts in her eyes. you asked if she was okay and turned on your side.
"you okay? you're staring."
"yeah i-im okay, you just look really pretty today"
"thank you bils, you're so sweet."
you said rubbing her shoulder, after she had turned on her side. you saw her open her mouth to say something but hesitate.
"hey, can i tell you something?"
"yes, of course billie, what is it? "
you looked at her waiting for her answer.
"i know this is probably going to shock you but i.. i like you, like a lot and i have since... forever really. you dont have to like me back, i just wanted you to know. "
you looked at her and smiled widely, you finally knew what you were feeling cause she was feeling the same thing.
"i like you too bils... a lot. maybe too much."
you said resting your hand on her cheek, rubbing your thumb on her cheekbone. she rested her hand on yours and leaned closer to you. you could feel your heartbeat racing, thumping out of your chest. she leaned over you resting on her elbow, and put her hand on your cheek.
"can i kiss you?"
"yeah"
she kissed you softly, like she was scared you'd back out and say she was weird or something but you leaned up and kissed her back. after you guys kissed, she rested her forehead on yours.
"i missed you so much, you have no idea"
"me too bils so much"
she laid down next to you, cuddling into your side on the blanket and you guys watched the clouds again but it was more peaceful.
afterwards, you guys packed up and went to her house, got changed and took a nap on the bed with shark. you didn't mean to but she was so comfortable so it was hard not to.
you just know that your feelings had finally gotten out and you didn't have to be unsure about it, you liked her and she liked you. that's all that mattered.
