who’s the cuddler: Spock is a sneaky cuddler. He is really good at acting like it’s Jim’s idea and he’s just being a good mate and Jim humors him and lets him have his little delusion because he doesn’t really care who started it, since it gets him a cozy armful of Vulcan.
who makes the bed: Spock. Jim will make it, he’s pretty good about it, but he’s learned that even though Spock won’t admit it, he prefers to do it. According to Spock, it’s not that Jim doesn’t do a good job, it’s just that Spock is “more efficient at it.” (Jim knows this means that Spock wants it made to his standards instead of Jim’s, and he’s happy to leave him to it.)
who wakes up first: Spock. Vulcans need less sleep, but Jim always manages to coax Spock into bed with him at night, no matter how often he claims he doesn’t need rest. Since he used to sleep every few days instead of every day, he spends fewer hours asleep, and wakes up early to meditate.
who has the weird taste in music: Jim isn’t picky about music. He has his favorites but most of his music is a hodge-podge of stuff other people have recommended to him, so he’s got a little bit of everything. Spock has the expected Vulcan music, mostly calming meditative stuff. But what shocked Jim was when he dug a bit deeper and found some old Earth music (courtesy of Amanda) and some pretty emotional music written pre-Surak.
who is more protective: They are pretty evenly matched here. It’s one of the few disagreements that’ve never really solved, because neither wants the other to constantly be stepping in front of danger or getting hurt to protect them, but there’s really no stopping it. They would do just about anything to protect each other.
who sings in the shower: Jim. Loudly and badly. Spock pretends he doesn’t love it.
who cries during movies: Jim’s not much of a crier to be honest. But he will go on a long passionate rant about some topic from a movie, whether it be a historical inaccuracy, an unfair character death, or especially an issue with bigotry in the filmmaking industry (”seriously, Spock! What is this, the 21st century?!”) Spock learned very quickly to just let him be illogical.
who spends the most while out shopping: It depends on where they are really. They both have their things that they are willing to spend way too much on if the other lets them. Spock likes to buy artifacts and science toys and jim likes to try all kinds of food in new places and buys little knick knacks for his desk, or Spock’s desk, or as gifts for their friends (and of course, once he finds something for one person, he has to find something for everyone just to be fair) and he tries to talk Spock into buying clothes from lots of different cultures.
who kisses more roughly: Again, it depends on the situation. If there was a dangerous situation or Spock’s life was threatened, Jim tends to get a bit rough, partly in anger and fear at the thought of losing Spock, and also partly to remind himself of just how strong Spock is. Spock kinda does the opposite. Sometimes all of the love and tenderness he feels for Jim will build up within him and it’s hard to get past his Vulcan conditioning to really express it, sometimes he feels like there is no way he could ever really express it and it starts to become too much, and he will get more rough to get out some of those pent up feelings and also because Jim being slow and gentle and reverent with him tends to be what causes the upheaval of feelings.
who is more dominant: Generally Jim, since he tends to have that sort of personality. He’s a natural born leader and as in all things, Spock is more than happy to submit to him (and I say submit lightly, when Jim is being “dominant” it is honestly almost completely equal, it’s just that once they get comfortable with each other Jim knows what Spock wants and what he wants and how to make it happen) But when Spock dominates, he dominates. He uses every ounce of the supreme Vulcan control to just own Jim. It is a lot less frequent, but every now and then they both really crave it.
my rating of the ship from 1-10: 10000000000. Seriously, my first and most enduring OTP, the ship of all ships for me tbh.
