Every day I think about Brindeface’s death. I feel as though for how striking it was when I read it as a kid, it’s really slept on by the fandom. When it *is* talked about, it often is more so in relation to Ashfur’s trauma than looking at it on its own. I’m sick and tired of talking about men I don’t give a flying fuck about your “poor little emo boy” I need to examine this. We dont get any POV on her death, and it’s said in the books that the burial is a rushed affair. How did things go down? She and Tigerclaw were in the nursery together and trained as apprentices alongside one another— this was a major betrayal, and it’s so twisted that this was never addressed in the series.
