You know, I haven´t looked for many written reviews on TFA/TLJ under the Catholic viewpoint, but your comment makes me want to seek them. I recall one of the greatest passages in Scripture: "today you will be with me in Paradise" - Luke 23:39-42 - redemption and compassion go along. And if Episode IX reminds us of that - what a great message for the world it will be!
I’ve seen a lot of beautiful sw redemption posts framed in a general christian understanding of redemption! I think for a lot of us it’s why it resonates so much. That is the most beautiful, hopeful, incredible line from Scripture, isn’t it. He said this to a thief!! Who was being punished for crimes he absolutely committed. This day, not tomorrow, or in a thousand years. This. Day. It’s so beautiful. Also yes! I fully agree that we all need that message of redemption!!

This made me think of a quote by Tim Keller: "To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us."
oh wow. WOW. Thank you for adding this!!!! This is EVERYTHING. There’s no room for pride in that reality, because you’re fully known, warts and all. But there’s no room for despair either. It’s all love. I’M CRYING.
