@sofisnow replied to your post “i finally watched S2 of Jessica Jones and I know that everyone hates...”
Honestly everyone hates her and I'm like...I literally would have done the same thing
I know! The thing is the police really would’ve killed Jessica because she would have tried to protect Alisa. They weren’t about to let Alisa surrender, not after she killed that cop. They were going to kill her and Jessica would’ve died too. Trish saved Jessica. That’s a fact. She wanted to save Jessica in the way Jessica has saved her in the past. At any cost and even knowing that it would cause Jessica great pain. And the thing about the drugs and wanting to be a hero, how do people not get it? I remember back in season one I saw this interview with Rachael Taylor and she said something about the complexity of their friendship. Loyalty, love, but also co-dependency and damage and jealousy. It's not perfect. Trish wants to do what Jessica isn’t willing to do, isn't equipped to do, she wants to be a superhero. She wants to be more than Patsy the former child star and she wants to be more than the host of a lifestyle radio program. She wants to be a real journalist but people won’t take her seriously so she wants to show them. She doesn’t want to be thought of as vulnerable and she wants to help people. She wants to be a hero. She wants a purpose and she needs power. I get why Jessica is mad at her of course, but Trish wasn’t being unreasonable this season. She was being what the ‘best friend’ rarely gets the chance to be in most TV shows. She is a flawed individual whose desires don’t always line up with the main character’s. It’s messy and it’s real. Jessica Jones is great because it is, among other things, the story of two women and how they overcome a lot of shit and better each other. I hope their relationship isn’t beyond repair because it’s honestly the reason why I love Jessica Jones so much, but I don’t blame Trish for being her own person. Sorry for the rant but yeah that's that on that.
You may know @maryweberauthor fiction #thestormsirentrilogy The #SofiSnow novels, and #tobesttheboys If you’ve seen her social media recently, she’s announced their situation on IG with losing their home, belongings, and several affected by deadly mold. While Mary’s children are recovering, she is still fighting medical battles. They have lost nearly everything, and Mary is having trouble looking at any screen. Their insurance won’t cover losses. So why am I bringing this up? Like many in the writing community, my path has been blessed by her mentoring, strong fiery characters, and inspiration. But as a wildfire survivor who has also lost everything 12 years ago – I know some small part of what they are experiencing. I know what it’s like to walk out your front door for the last time and lose everything in a day. And we also had serious health considerations but have recovered. Learning to accept charity and prayers in a public way isn’t easy. In fact, it was one of the hardest things to accept clothing and toys for my kids, especially that first holiday. It took years to rebuild our lives too. What I’m reaching out about is if Mary has touched your life with her books, advocacy against #humantrafficking or with inspiration for your #writing we’d like to get involved in loving her family. There will be a Kickstarter later, but during the holidays it would be wonderful to have an outpouring of cards, gift cards for groceries or Amazon sent to her P.O. Box which her family has given permission to share. Mary Weber Family PO Box 591 Arroyo Grande, CA 93421 @jebraunclifford and I formed Facebook group to help them with giveaways, promotions to keep her books out there, and other creative ideas. Request to join and we hope it will be a groundswell of kindness. https://www.facebook.com/groups/579842192591466/ So, it would be wonderful if her groups, authors, readers, fans, and those who care for her could surround them with prayers, definitely, for miracles. I know that one of the largest lessons I learned as a wildfire survivor was about the great kindness of people and every small gesture made an important step in our recovery.
