I don’t think that Caroline is nesciarily compassionate just Glados now having more access to human emotions and memory’s allows her to feel a broader range of emotions or her emotions in a diffrent way which is why she eases up on chell w but either feeling them in a new way or toning herself down a bit to process this new way of feeling, (though I do think her jumping to chells defense when Wheatley was mimicking her fat and adopted jokes were to get back at Wheatley rather than defend chell).

I think Caroline and Glados are two seperate beings just Caroline is the base needed for Glados to exsist. Kind of like Steven universe and his mom, he needs her gem to exsist and she was transformed to make him but he is his own person who is seperate from her, though ofcourse he inherits traits from her which I also think Glados gets with Caroline. as another post I saw said it’s more fun for me personally to think the more unethical parts of Glados came from Caroline, like she worked at aperture she probally isn’t the most morally upstanding people out there

this is just based on my playthrough of the game I haven’t seen much outside material yet or a deep dive so my opinions will probally change later, that’s it for now bye!

After drawing Wheatley once I have found cores pretty easy to draw and have been thinking about them more

I have a couple of fun ideas on why the morality core doesn’t tak and I would like to share them. first being that it could be part of its personality, as in since it’s whole thing is being moral it’s constantly having debates with its head for what’s right and what’s wrong, scrupliosity core, ruminating core, it’s to busy having 3 diffrent arguments with itself at once core so it’s too busy to speak.

or that due to Glados always fighting against it it diesbt have the chance to speak, it’s always fighting against her on a level so large it has to be putting all of itself at her at once, that also kind of plays into my idea of why she says things like “for science” not that I don’t think she does do things for science but I think she has to frame things or say them in a certian way to get around the resurrections of the morality core. We don’t fully know how the cores influence her besides just “voices in her head” which ofcourse is a good explanation but thee is some more depth you can dig with that, I do think the morality core or actually all the portal 1 cores but the morality one the most of them has a more intertwined way of how they effect Glados since they are all building her up for who the company wants her to be.

also as a bit of a divergence from that it doesn’t speak due to how much it has to fight with Glados constant it’s a bit damaged, that’s why it’s kind of limp in your hands if I’m remebering correctly.

also I think the removal of the cores from Glados is what makes her 80% corrupted in portal two due to the nature of why they were on her, that’s probally a given but just wanted to put that out there
