Let Me Love You Right

Warnings: none its a fluffy sweet maybe slight angst
Summery: The cottage has been quiet today which means Agatha is have a tough inner battle day.
“You’re awfully quiet today love.” I wrapped my arms around her waist and let my head fall on her back.
“Hm. Oh sorry, just thinking.” She voice sounded lost and like she was a million miles away.
I rubbed my hands along her shoulder.
“You’ve been staring out at the trees for almost two hours. Do you wanna talk about it.” It being Nicky. I didn’t want to upset her in her dissociated state. Whenever she stared out at the tree’s she saw Nicky, she though of Nicky, she wanted him. It’s why she moved us out of the city and into the woods. She wanted to be closer to him.
“No.” She said suddenly pulling herself out of whatever daydream she was in and turning to enter the living room.
My body felt cold without her and I followed.
“I’m sorry.” I apologized hoping I hadn’t hurt her.
She turned and looked at me so softly I though I might cry.
“It’s not you my sweet. Never you.” She cupped my face setting her forehead on mine gently. “I just don’t want to pick that scab open today.”
“I understand. Want me to hold you?” I asked her rubbing her hands.
“Please.” She sighed and I laid back on the couch pulling her into my chest.
Agatha wasn’t soft like this often but whenever she let me take the lead in cuddling I knew she was deep in her own mind. Nicky and her mother running lose up there all the time. So I never hesitated to hold her when she felt to heavy.
I rubbed her back with one hand and played with her hair with the other. I started singing.
My home is your home, my hand is yours,
My love is what you’ve been longing for,
I’ll hold you long, or hold you short,
Hold you close to my heart.
You’ll never wonder where I’ve gone,
cause I’m always where you are,
No need for tears or crying out
Cause baby I’m in our house.
And when you need me,
or you’re feeling lost.
I’ll leave my lights on and,
guide you home.
Agatha had never been a silent crier. Even when she tried I’d always hear her. She never cried until she couldn’t bottle it any longer so she had no choice but to let it out in a loud way.
Her body racked with sobs and I continued to song over and over again just rocking and singing to her.
“You’ll never leave me.” She meant to ask it but in her desperation it almost sounded like a demand.
“I didn’t write a song about you for nothing my love. I’d be a mad woman to leave you.” I kissed the top of her head.
“And if I scare you one day? If I do something so awful?”
“Well if you bite another child we’ll have to put you in a muzzle for a bit but if you mean kill more people, well don’t you even worry honey. I’m crazy for you, crazy enough to bury another hole.” I hummed.
“I love you.” Her voice was raw and cracking.
“I love you more.” I responded.
“I love you the most.”
I used my magic to start back up the stove letting the soup rewarm up.
“Are you hungry.” I asked braiding her hair into sections.
“Starving.” She whined.
“Can I get up and fix you a bowl or shall I use my magic?”
The only answer I received was another whine from her and she snuggled deeper into my chest.
I used my magic to pull two bowls from the cupboard and let the ladle fill the bowls. They floated over to us and I let mine sit on the table while I held Aggies blowing on it slightly.
“I’m not a baby.” She hissed.
“Lies. You’re my baby.” I joked flirting.
She let out a huff but didn’t argue as I fed her. Not that she couldn’t do it on her own but I know how much small acts mean to her. She may always be in control but she needed love to. She needed to be cared for too. This was her emotional aftercare. The aftercare that came after her brain made her day miserable.
“Thank you.” She said placing a kiss on my lips. “For all that you’ve done and will do for me.”
“Always my love. Always and forever.” I kissed her forehead again.
I continued to play with her hair once she finished eating until she fell asleep on my chest.
I admired her sleeping form and could help but think how lucky I was. She may be scary and murderous to everyone else but she was my sweet sweet Aggie forever.
