I get what your saying but people are upset bc so many people are trying to deny that pan and bi mean the same thing by redefining bisexuality instead of acknowledging that pansexuality was born bc of the perception that bi people cant/won't date trans people and they somehow need a special sexuality for it. All sexualities are trans inclusive, including bisexuality. So coming up with a new label to mean you're attraction to people isn't based on gender, which means you'll date nb people (and some people broaden this to mean trans people as a whole) is wrong. Like most people are aware that this isn't the thought process of people who choose to id as a pan. But the public perception of what pansexuality is has been nothing but harmful to bisexuals, and others and fetishes trans people. Its not that we think all pansexual people are horrible or irredeemable or anything, just that the label itself is unnecessary and deeply misconcontrues other peoples identity in the process.
