Your head was lying on the soft pillow laying on your bed. Harrison’s messy hair was was spread across your abdomen, his head resting near the lower half of your stomach. You carefully ran your fingers through his hair, gently massaging his scalp. There were small moans escaping from the exhausted blond as you held him close to you.
His voice barely above a whisper, he broke the comfortable silence, “’M so sorry, y/n. ‘S just been a lo-”
“I promise, it’s alright, bub,” you cut him off, your tone matching his.
The distressed boy lifted his head to make eye contact with you. “But, I’m supposed to be the one that calms you down,” he responded, his voice obviously close to breaking.
You knew how Harrison wanted to be strong and protect you, but he was human, and sometimes, he needed someone to help him wind down. He hated being this vulnerable in front of you. He absolutely could not stand it, and he usually did anything in his power to keep this from happening. However, Harrison couldn’t keep you from being concerned when you opened the bedroom door to see him lying on the bed nearly in tears. He did his best to usher you out and explain that he was fine, but you were having none of it.
“Haz, you just need to relax for now,” you paused before going on. “I like being able to take car of you like this.” Your fingers were slowly moving through the locks of blond hair, now. You were trying your best to keep him calm.
When the small smile appeared on his face, though, you knew that you had done something right. “Okay,” he whispered, still smiling. His head rested back on your stomach and you could feel him nuzzle himself closer to you. His body was nestled snug between your legs, with his arms wrapped around your hips. The smile that graced his face was everything you needed. Harrison Osterfield had stolen your heart. Perhaps, you had stolen his heart too.
