Getting You Alone
My friend @astoldbybetty told me about this dream she had last night and I had to write a blurb đ€Ł
Warnings: making out, flirting (basically just Harrison being cheeky, cause I feel like if he likes you heâd be a cheeky shit about it đ), getting caught by friends, suggestive ending.
Masterlist
Youâd known Harrison forever, he was your best friend and you knew him better than anyone else. You knew damn well that heâd only flirt with someone if he really truly liked them.
And he flirted with you a lot.
Youâd had feelings for him for a while now, so naturally you just basked in the attention. You two never needed to tell each other out loud that you had feelings, you just kind of knew.
Despite that, he asked you out on a date. It was a big secret you kept from your friends, but it eventually became harder to hide once you two started getting freakishly closer and going on more dates.
Even though they had their suspicions and teased you relentlessly, you ended up going on a trip with your friends. They all knew damn well there was something going on between you two. And yet, they never gave you two an ounce of private time together.
But one evening that changed.
You were playing cards with your friends at the table when Harrison walked in. You asked him to join you, but he said he couldnât cause he was going out, but heâd be back later.
Rarely did he ever just leave to go someplace alone. He always invited you along. This left you feeling suspicious and curious.
You excused yourself from the table to follow him. If he really was doing something private youâd turn around and head back to the house, give him his space.
You eventually found him on the balcony porch, laying on a lounge chair on his phone. You climbed the stairs and laid on the chair next to him.
âThought you were going somewhere?â You asked raising an eyebrow.
âNo, I only said that cause I knew youâd try to tag alongâ he said chuckling âI was trying to get you aloneâ
You blushed and smiled âyou succeededâ
He sat up and got off his chair, hovering above you in yours. He pressed his lips to yours gently and your stomach filled with butterflies. Sure, youâd kissed him before, but it always made you feel like you were floating.
The kiss deepened and he pressed his body against yours. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he nipped at your bottom lip before soothing it with his tongue.
A slight whimper left your mouth as you wrapped your leg around his hip, opening your mouth slightly to invite him in further.
The kiss continued until you were full-on making out under the porch light.
But the fun didnât last long.
âOh my god, I knew it!â
You heard someone squeal from the patio down below, causing both of you to pull away.
âI knew you two were in a situation-ship or whateverâ you heard your friend Maggie say as everyone else filtered outside.
âFucking finally!â You heard a few other friends say as you blushed bright red, mortified that the two of you got caught.
Harrison chuckled despite being embarrassed too and kissed your pink cheeks âthey were gonna find out eventuallyâ he said softly so only you could hear.
âKinda wish they hadnât interrupted though, I was having funâ you said biting your lip as you tan your fingers through his Sandy blonde curls.
âWe donât have to stopâ he said smirking.
âI donât want them to seeâ you said giggling
âMeet me in my room in 5 minutes?â He asked, his mischievous smirk getting more cheeky.
âSee you thenâ you said biting your lip as he walked down the steps of the porch and back to the main house.
This was going to be the longest five minutes of your life.
Iâm so sorry for the lack of stories lately, Iâve had such bad writers block lately. I have stories in my drafts still, so hopefully writing this little blurb will fuel some inspiration to finish them!
Take a break
Haz Osterfield x Gn!Reader
Summary: Where Haz wants Y/n to take a break and Y/n is a Grade A workaholic.
Warnings: Fluffiest fluff, internal conflict
Word count: 3.1k
A/n: This is for all my workaholics and overachievers out there, Iâm one of you. Remember that taking care of yourself is also knowing when to stop. Lots of love!
Iâm not known for being a lover. Iâm somewhat of a hater, as my friends and family like to remind me. I have strong opinions about most things, which I suppose can lead to negative emotions like hatred. But just as strongly (just not as often) as I can hate something, I can love it. And I love three things: my boyfriend, my job, and Raspberry Ripple ice cream.
I never thought loving something so much could be counterproductive, but it turns out too much of anything, even love, can drain you.
This is the story of how my love for Raspberry Ripple ice cream almost ruined my life.
Just kidding. R. Ripple and I are tightâ she would never do anything wrong.
This, if youâll allow me to tell it, is the story of when I realized my job was consuming my life, and how true love saved me from burning out.
I'm an editor for one of Englandâs most popular magazines, so pressure is my middle name. It's a stressful gig of course, but as Iâve always said (and believed): I can handle anything.
Harrison and I met a year and a half ago at a fashion event the magazine was hosting. The place was full of clothing brands, designers, critics, modelsâ and people like me, blending in, jotting things down, taking pictures, and, of course, speaking to guests.
Haz was one of those guestsâ not the kind who sits quietly and smiles, but the type who walks around, greets everyone, pays attention, and makes small talk with the people working the event. Which is how he ended up talking to me.
As I was trying to fix a slightly crooked painting that not a single person in attendance would have noticed, he offered to help. Of course it annoyed me at first and took it as an insult towards my abilities to straighten a frame, but looking back I see that it was simply Harrison being who he is: kind, helpful and caring.
After rejecting his help at least five times and eventually having to cave due to taking longer than I shouldâve, he asked me for my name. I lied about it hoping heâd leave and I could go back to work, but he called my bluff.
âAre you lying?â
âWhat? No!â
âYou donât have to tell me your name if you donât want to, but at least lie a little bit better for my sake.â
âHow can you tell Iâm lying?â
âIâm an actor, I can tell when someoneâs acting too.â
âReally?â
âNo, I heard someone calling you earlier.â
It got me, I couldnât help but chuckle. âIâm Y/n.â
âHarrison, but you can call me Haz when we go out on a date.â
âWhat?â I asked, amused.
âIâm asking you out, was that not clear?â
âYouâre quite cocky, arenât you?â
He shrugged. âIs it working?â
I smiled softly, âMaybe.â
âSo, can I have your number?â
âAsk me again when Iâm off duty and I might consider it.â
âNow whoâs being cocky?â He joked.
âTake it or leave it.â
âAlright, Iâll see you when youâre off.â
A part of me thought he would forget, but he didnât. And honestly, I couldnât refuse to give him my number, heâs quite the charmer.
From then on, we havenât left each otherâs side, and I couldnât be happier.
One of the things I love the most about him is that he understood how important my job is to me since day one, and he has always been really supportive even if I kill myself every night in front of the computer. However, he tries to keep me healthy, even if I make it an impossible task.
"Y/n!" Haz snapped his fingers.
"What's up?"
"I've been talking to you for five minutes, have you not been listening?"
We were sitting in our dining room, where Iâve been sitting since last night.
"I'm sorry, I need to proofread this article."
"Can't you take a break while we have breakfast?"
"Does it count as breakfast if I've been up all night?"
Haz was taken off guard, "You were up all night working?!"
"No" I replied, a little embarrassed.
"Can you pause and eat?"
"Yes, absolutely." I closed my laptop.
"Great, let me get you some coffee." He told me and stood up from his seat, then gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"Thanks babe."
He came back with an I love my boyfriend mug he got me for our three month anniversary. "Here you go my dear- Y/n! You're working?"
I was: I opened my computer the moment he turned around.
"It won't take me long, I swear."
"I don't care about that, I just don't want you to burn out."
"I wonât, I'm doing great." I said, and I didnât think I was lying.
"You clearly aren't, honey."
"Of course I am."
"Babe, youâve been looking at your laptop for so long, Iâm starting to get jealous. Take a break."
"I will take a break when I finish this one thing."
He sighed. "You promise?"
"I promise." I said and held out my pinky finger; he hooked his around it. âAnd thereâs no need to be jealous, Iâve got plenty of love for both.â
âYou shouldnât!â
I rolled my eyes with a smile. âIâm kidding.â
âGood. Remember what your mug says.â
I chuckled, âI love you, dummy.â
"I love you too, and when you're done, I'm taking you out to do things you like that don't involve work."
"I'd like that."
An hour later, I was still working and Harrison walked in the room, showered and dressed.
"Are you ready?"
I looked at myself. I couldnât be less ready. "I haven't showered."
"Itâs fine! Just put on some clothes; or don't, I'll drag you out anyway."
I wasnât in love with the idea of leaving the house and enjoying myself when I had so much to do. Regardless, I put my computer away and got dressed.
"Okay I'm ready."
"Great!" Haz grinned and opened the door.
My phone rang, of course; I couldn't ignore it. I looked at him with a guilty expression and mouthed I'm sorry.
"Hello?â
No, I'm not busyâ
Of course, I'll get to it right now."
I saw my boyfriend sighing in disappointment and closing the door.
"I'm sorry babe, it won't take long."
"Can't you work on it tomorrow?"
"Iâd rather not." I replied sitting back down.
"You really need to spend a whole day without the internet."
I giggled. "That's impossible."
He didnât laugh. âIm serious.â
âHarrison, you know how things are.â
âOf course I do, but Iâm worried about you!â
âIâm perfectly fine, I promise.â
But I wasnâtâ I was about to spend hours on something that could be done on an actual workday, not on my day off.
He shook his head. "Y/n baby, come on, let's go outside."
"We will, I promise."
I know he was about to give up, but was strong enough to close my laptop.
"Your eyebags have eyebags, we're going." He told me and carried me bridal style.
"Haz please, I'll be quick."
"I don't care, you're killing yourself with work and I won't allow that!â
âHarrison! Put me down.â
âDonât you want some Raspberry Ripple?â
I squeezed my eyes. âYou know the answer to that is always yes.â
He smiled softly, and so did I. Then he carried me out of the house and inside the car.
"I like being spoiled by you." I told him.
âItâs your lucky day, âcause thatâs all Iâm gonna do.â
We each got a cone. I got my favorite and refused to give him a taste.
âYou shouldâve gotten this yourself!â
âI thought Iâd try something new!â
âIâd never do that.â I licked my ice cream. âI already know Iâm gonna like this flavor, why would I risk it with a new one?â
âWhat if you choose a different flavor and you end up liking it more?â
I raised an eyebrow. âThatâs crazy talk.â
âYouâre never gonna know you love something if you donât give it a chance.â He replied.
âI gave you a chance.â
âYou did.â
âAnd I love you.â
âYou do.â
I sighed and joked. âI wish I hadnât!â
He giggled, âStop dodging the conversation! You know Iâm right.â
âYeah, yeah, of course youâre right. Do I have to say it out loud?â
He shrugged. âItâs nice to hear from time to time.â
I kissed his cheek. âYouâre right,â I said. Another kiss. âYouâre right.â One more for good measure, and when I leaned in again, as if to repeat it, I swerved and licked his ice cream instead.
âHey!â He complained.
âWow, this is actually pretty good.â
He chuckled, âLetâs go.â
As we walked down the street, I felt an immense urge to grab my phone and check if someone needed me every five seconds, but I didn't want Haz to get mad so I held back.
"Should we sit here?" He asked, pointing at a fountain.
"Sure, but once we finish our ice cream we should head home."
"But I thought you would take a break today."
"Nope, that doesn't sound like me." I said, sitting down.
He stood in front of me. "Please? Do it for me."
Harrison had a look on his face I couldn't say no to. I hate it, it's too cute. Plus I was too tired to use any of my willpower.
"Okay, where are we going next?"
He smiled, "To the spa."
"Huh?"
"Yup, I booked us a spa day for couples and it's exactly what you need to get rid of the stress you've been carrying around."
"I don't know⊠I just want my computer."
âYour computer isnât gonna get rid of stress.â
âWho said it was my intention?â
âY/n, you need this more than anyone I know! And my grandpa went to war.â
âHey, don't use your grandpa against me.â
âImagine how badly Iâm trying to help you.â
I sighed. "Alright, it does sound kind of fun."
Excitedly, he grabbed my hand.
We drove to the spa.
"The last time I had a spa day, I was worried about my geometry homework." I said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, when was yours?"
"Like a month ago! Tom and I have spa days together every two months."
I chuckled. "Wow, you really are divas, aren't you?"
He nodded. "Yep."
Halfway through the full-body massage I was receiving, I realized that I wasn't feeling less stressed. In fact, I was overwhelmed thinking about how much time I've wasted today without getting anything done. I turned my head as much as I could, and noticed Haz was falling asleepâ I saw this as an opportunity.
âHey, Shelley.â I whispered to the masseuse.
âYes? Is everything okay?â She replied with an awfully soothing voice which wasnât soothing at all.
âCan you hand me my phone?â I asked.
âIâm sorry?â
âMy phone! I need it, please give it to me.â I kept whispering.
âBut, this is a massage.â
âYeah, no shit! It wonât be long, just give it.â
I can tell she hesitated as it took her a while to move and grab it. But she finally did.
I checked it through the face port and saw that I had seventeen texts and four emails from coworkers and bosses about stuff I should be working on instead of being aggressively rubbed by a stranger.
I tried typing but it was difficult due to my position and how my body vibrated. After the masseuse touched a sensitive area of my back, I giggled and dropped my phone, which led to Haz waking up. Quickly, I placed my arms back on the bed, and pretended nothing had happened.
"You okay?" Harrison asked.
"Yep, super. How are you?â
"...Did you drop your phone? Were you working while getting a massage!?" He asked and sat up, so I did the same.
âNo! I was chilling, Iâm super relaxed.â
Haz looked at Shelley. âIs it true?â
I looked at her fiercely. She shook her head.
âShelley!â I claimed. âI thought we were friends.â
âY/n!â Haz called my attention.
"I'm sorry! It's important, okay? It's my job, Harrison."
"You have a problem, babe! How is it possible that you can't stop thinking about work for ten minutes? While you were literally supposed to be relaxing?"
For the first time, I felt like he wasnât being the supportive boyfriend heâs supposed to be. It upset me.
"I'm not the kind of person who can just take breaks, alright? I don't need this, what I need is my computer and a cup of coffee. It feels like you're just trying to sabotage me."
âItâs just one day, Y/n! Donât blow this out of proportion.â
I didnât answer. Haz doesnât typically get mad, or calls me out unless heâs really serious.
Harrison sighed, "Do you really think I'd be taking you away from work if I knew itâd hurt you? You can take a break sometimes, Y/n, itâll be fine. I promise."
Not immediately, but I understood that he wouldn't willingly do anything to hurt meâ quite the opposite. I knew he wasnât purposely trying to be the villain in whatever twisted tale I was creating in my head.
"Crap, you might be right⊠I'm sorry, I'll stop."
His face brightened up. âFor real?â
I nodded.
"Great! Because I'm taking you on a date⊠I made a reservation at your favorite place."
How he comes up with stuff to do and plans it out is beyond me. But I guess thatâs one of the many things I love about him.
"I should go home and change though."
"No, I won't risk your temptation to grab your laptop." He giggled.
"Please, I brought sweatpants!"
He decided to allow it only if I agreed on not using the internet.
Following the little more relaxing than before massage, we went back home and I took a shower before getting dressed in a more appropriate attire for the restaurant.
"I'm ready!"
Haz, who was also dressed quite nicely, looked up from his book and his eyes sparkled a little bit. "You look stunning, Y/n/n."
"Thanks," I smiled. "I nearly fell asleep in the shower."
"I'm not surprised, you haven't slept in three days."
"Sleep is for the weak, love."
I yawned. Oops.
"We can skip the meal and just go to sleep."
"No! I'm not tired, I promise."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure! Let's go before I grab my laptop.â
âAlright, but give me a kiss first.â He requested.
âWhy?â
âBecause Iâm your boyfriend.â
âHmmm, doesnât seem like enough.â I teased him.
âOh, doesnât it huh?!â
âNah-ah.â
He grabbed me from the hips and pulled me closer to him. We smiled sweetly.
âWell then let me kiss you.â
âOnly because youâve been so nice to me all day.â
He leaned his head closer to mine, his eyes moved from my eyes to my lips, then back to my eyes. Iâve always thought Harrison and I are like magnets, drawn to each other in any circumstance. I couldnât stand him just looking at me any longer, so I threw my lips onto his.
We pulled away, âYou were taking too long,â I said.
He smirked, âWell done.â
We got to the place and sat down to eat.
"Let's order some wine." I suggested.
"Nah-ah! Champagne, we're celebrating."
I smirked, "What are we celebrating?"
"You finally taking a break." He smiled.
And I know I was supposed to smile too, but I couldn'tâ it felt wrong.
The waiter brought us two glasses and a bottle of champagne.
"Cheers, love." He said.
"Cheers."
I took a sip of the drink and placed it down on the table. As if someone pushed a button, I began to tear up. I tried to hide it but Harrison knows me better than anyone else. I canât hide anything from him.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm just so happy to be having dinner with you."
"Then why are you crying?"
After he said that, I figured there was no reason for me to keep holding it and simply let myself go and burst out in tears.
"I'm just so tired." That being the first time I ever said it out loud.
"I know, honey." He replied, sweetly.
"I don't like being like this." I said.
"How so?"
"I mean, I love that you want me to stop obsessing about my job but it's my life now! And I- I can't stop, as much as I want to."
"Of course you can, love."
"You said we're celebrating that I'm taking a break but I don't feel like I deserve one, let alone cheer for it."
He saw me. Really saw me. Not that he didnât try to do so earlierâ I was simply hiding pretty well.
He held my hand, "Darling, trust me. You need this, you above all people deserve a break. I've seen you work your face off since the very first time we met, and I couldn't be more proud of everything you are."
I sniffed. "Thanks, Haz."
"But I also wish to be proud of you because you take care of yourself."
"I'm scared I'll disappoint everyone if I do."
"Y/n, you aren't supposed to please anyone, especially people who expect you to give up your life for a job."
I sniffed again and cleaned my tears. "Are you sure?"
"I'm certain."
I smiled. "Thanks for being so supportive."
"As your boyfriend, that's my job."
"I promise I'll try to balance my work and the rest of my life."
"And I promise I'll be there to remind you when to rest."
"You seriously are the best boyfriend I could've asked for, aren't you?"
"Yep, I was actually made by a computer."
"Huh, that's why you were so expensive?"
âYou get what you pay for, my love.â He said, wiping my tears with a handkerchief he brought as part of his outfit. âI never thought Iâd use this.â
I giggled. âItâs soft.â
After dinner, we drove back home and I put on some clean pj's. We got inside the bed.
"Can we watch a movie?" I asked him.
"Of course, you choose."
"Legally Blonde!"
"Again?!"
"Please, it's my comfort film."
"I thought I was all the comfort you needed."
"You and Reese Witherspoon being a badass."
He chuckled, had to agree and played the movie.
I cuddled him and laid my head on his chest, it's been a while since the last time I did that.
As anyone wouldâve guessed, I didn't make it through the first 15 minutes of the film without falling deep asleep.
I deserved it, though! Haz made sure I knew that.
The end.
That's a beautiful body Harrison đđ đđ
Can you please do a fic where Harrison protects/saves you? đ
Habitually Offensive : Harrison Osterfield x Reader
Desc: 3.5k wc, y/n and Harrison are dating, but her ex wonât leave her be, requiring Haz to step in and protect her. Hurt comfort
Warnings: kidnapping, domestic violence (please safely seek help if youâre dealing with this!), injuries, fighting, police, and hospitals
Harrison paced back and forth with worry. His poor bottom lip was numb from how aggressively heâd been biting at it. Heâd not heard back from his girlfriend for a while now. He couldnât explain it, but he felt something was off about it. He didnât think her not answering her phone was unrelated to the sudden sound that heâd heard in the background of the call. Heâd been on the phone with her as she returned from a night out with friends. Theyâd been talking for maybe an hour when there was a loud crash and she suddenly stated she needed to go but would call him back. Harrison didnât have the chance to ask her what the noise was or to ask her to stay on the phone with him before she ended the call. Heâd tried to immediately call her back, already having sensed something was off. It was late at night and she lived alone, with no pets⊠so she would have to have caused the noise in order for it to not be something of concern. However, heâd known her for long enough to know what type of reaction she usually had to knocking something over or having some sort of accident. Hence why his feet were nearly burning marks into the floor from all his pacing.
Harrison tried to call her one more time. Only, after ringing for a while, he got her voicemail box, again. He grit his teeth and stomped over to his front door and hurriedly tore his keychain down from his assigned wall hook.
Harrison was certain he was going to be pulled over and given a ticket on his way over due to the fact heâd never driven that much over the speed limit before. Luckily though that hadnât happened; heâd made it to his girlfriendâs house in record time without attracting the attention of the police. However, when he got close enough to see the signs that confirmed his earlier suspicions, Harrison supposed that maybe it wouldâve been a good idea to the police involved. His racing gaze shifted all around the scene in front of him as he took in the broken glass beside her windowed door, the way her door was partially open, and the muddy shoe print on the cement path leading to the entrance of her home.
Without hesitation, Harrison flung the door open the rest of the way and rushed inside. His head whipped around rapidly as he searched for her. âY/n?!â He called out as he made his way further into her apartment. His heart had begun to speed up more and more with each passing second he couldnât find her. However, upon reaching her backdoor and seeing the track of blood that was smeared on the tile, his heart stopped. Harrison had to grip the edge of the hallway table beside him to keep from collapsing. He blinked forcefully and rubbed his eyes to clear away the tears that had begun to form. He needed to focus. He took a deep breath as he felt all his muscles tense as he prepared for whatever was about to come.
Harrison pushed the backdoor outwards as he followed the smeared blood outside. It was evident where she was forced to stand as the blood smear dramatically lessened suddenly. However, he noticed y/n mustâve been limping as there were still small traces for awhile. Luckily the pouring rain tonight hadnât washed out away yet. Unfortunately, the trail nevertheless ended unexpectedly; leaving Harrison uncertain where to go to find her. He tried to call her phone again in hopes that she had it on her and heâd hear it. Only, he heard it faintly from back towards the house. He sighed and ended the call, his wide eyes scanning her quaint backyard for any sign of where sheâd been taken.
Harrison turned on the flashlight on his phone and rotated it around the dark yard. He noticed a black high heel shoe randomly beside her rubbish bin. He was certain sheâd intentionally left it behind as its location didnât make much sense in the sense that it was not located along any clear walking path. He rushed to it and again scanned the area. In doing so, he found her other shoe a few feet away. Then it was her bracelet. By now Harrison had reached the neighborâs garage. Just as he was about to try to find a way to peak into the garage to see if he needed to break in to get his girl out, he noticed a sparkling item slightly sunken into the disturbed mud puddle by the garageâs door.
Harrison quietly moved closer, not wanting to risk anyone hearing him and knowing he had found them should she be being held here. Yet, when his eyes landed on the necklace heâd gifted y/n for her birthday years ago back when they were just friends, he knew she was here and he knew sheâd left these clues in hopes it would help someone find her. Sheâd never taken that necklace off since the day she got it, she even slept in it. So it was obvious sheâd used it as a last resort to draw attention to where she was taken.
Harrisonâs breath became erratic as he turned to the door, ready to burst in and get her to safety. His eyes narrowed in preparation as he set his hand on the handle and pulled aggressively. The door budged but didnât open. He could make out some rustling from the other side of the garage door. âY/n? Love?â He called out as he began to back up so he could get some momentum to kick the door down. He could hear muffled noise and he frowned. âIf youâre near the door, try to back up okay?â He warned. He took a deep breath and ran at the door.
It took an intense amount of force, but Harrison was able to push whatever obstruction was pressed against the other side of the door out of the way enough to wedge himself inside. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the lack of light inside the garage, but when they did, he felt his heart shatter. He shimmied past the wooden table that had been blockading the door and hurriedly sprinted to the other end of the garage where y/n was seated. He saw the tears instantly fall from her eyes and roll down her face, a few stopping as they reached the edge of the duct tape that had been placed over her lips.
Harrison gasped quietly as he cautiously knelt before her, not wanting to scare her with any sudden movements in the dark. âShhh love, itâs me, itâs Haz,â he reassured, reaching up and gently pulling up the edge of the duct tape. âThis might sting a bit, y/n,â he warned, looking at her hesitantly, hating the idea of hurting her even if it was for her sake. When she nodded quickly, he took a deep breath, signaling for her to copy. He then quickly pulled the tape away from her mouth. He gripped her hand as she whimpered lightly as it left her skin. âIâm so sorry honey,â he cooed.
âIâm going to get you out of here,â Harrison promised y/n as he turned his attention to her bound wrists. âWas it him?â He questioned knowingly. As she nodded, he squeezed her hand in support. âHeâs not going to get away with this again. But, I need you to tell me, do you know where he is?â
Y/n shook her head and sniffled. She sighed as she watched Harrison try to gently undo the ropes that had been digging into her skin. âHe used theâŠ,â she paused and waved her hand around as she found herself unable to find the word for the large rolling garage door that y/ex/n pulled up and slid out under. âIâm,.. sorry,â she mumbled, her swollen bottom lip making her voice sound funny.
Harrison scoffed lightly and shook his head, his soft eyes lifting to meet her gaze. âDonât be, this isnât on you, okay?â He frowned when he could tell she wasnât convinced. âItâs not,â he stated, his voice leaving no room for doubt. âNow, I⊠I saw⊠blood,â Harrison muttered fearfully. âI doubt all of that is from your poor lip,â he pointed out, lightly tracing her split lip with his thumb.
Y/n shook her head. âItâs my stomach,â she explained, reluctantly pulling her hands back from Harrisonâs other hand in order to show him. Her hand shook with her lingering adrenaline and fear as she pulled up the edge of her shirt to show her boyfriend the injury her ex had caused. âItâs not⊠too badâ.
Harrison huffed and shook his head. âYou donât need to minimize your pain sweetheart,â he whispered. He spelt brought his hand closer to the bloody gash in her abdomen. âM-May I?â He asked, clearing his throat. Only once y/n gave him her consent did Harrison let his fingers tenderly touch her irritated skin as a deep grimace formed on his face. âHe cut you?â He asked as he analyzed the wind to see what type of weapon heâd used against her and how serious the injury was.
âHe⊠he used the glass from when he broke in,â y/n answered timidly.
âWeâll get you patched up,â Harrison vowed, lowering y/nâs rain soaked shirt back down and helping her stand up.
âWhat?â Y/n questioned quietly as she noticed the look of confusion on Harrisonâs face ass s he gazed down at her legs.
âYou⊠your legs are fine?â Harrison asked, eyes looking up to meet hers. âItâs just, it looked like you mightâve been limping or dragging your foot,â he mumbled, head unconsciously tilting in the direction of the blood stains heâd been referencing.
Y/n pursed her lips and nodded lightly. âI thought⊠I thought it might help⊠someone ummm⊠you know..â she muttered.
Harrison nodded and tenderly pulled her to him. He wrapped his arms securely around her as he rubbed her back. âYou did great y/n, truly,â he praised, stroking the back of her head lightly. âIt did help, as did your shoes, and bracelet, and-â
âMy necklace,â y/n murmured as she recalled having to rip it off her neck with one hand as y/ex/n had dragged her into her neighborâs unoccupied garage. Sheâd hoped that even if the police didnât come looking for her that Harrison eventually would and that heâd notice the necklace.
Harrison nodded but felt the deep sigh that left her as she partially deflated in his hold. ââey, honeyâ.
âI broke it, he⊠I only had one hand⊠IâŠâ y/n cried.
âY/n/n, itâs okay, Iâm glad you did,â Harrison promised, leaning back to cup her face. âIt helped me know you were here, I couldnât be happier that you broke it,â he added. He pressed a loving kiss to her clammy and dirty forehead. âLetâs get you out of hereâ.
Harrison positioned y/n by his side, instructing her to keep her right hand pressed to her wound on her stomach while her left held onto him for support. He made his way to the door that heâd entered through slowly as to not make her pain worse. He shoved the wooden table further out of the way so they could fit through easier.
The couple had just stepped outside and into the flood lights of huge garage when Harrison spotted someone approaching. He quickly moved y/n behind him as he tensed. He could tell by the way the person was stalking over that they didnât want to be loud and cause a scene but it was clear they werenât pleased; it had to be y/ex/n. âLove, head home and call nine-nine-nine,â Harrison instructed, passing her his cellphone and guiding her to move behind the large rubbish bin beside the garage.
âNo, Haz, he-,â y/n whimpered, her voice carrying her worry for her boyfriend.
âIâm fine, please,â Harrison pleaded, turning to send her a look before he moved to step closer to y/ex/n.
Y/n looked between the two men in debate. She didnât want to leave Harrison. But she also knew she wasnât going to be much help given the gash in her stomach. Yet at the same time, it was her previous relationship with y/ex/n that lead to this moment; Harrison didnât need to get caught up in this. She couldnât make out the words that Harrison and y/ex/n exchanged, her unsteady breathing muffling and sounds around her. She decided to do as Harrison asked and run to safety so she could call for help. The police would be better help than she would be, especially at this point.
Harrison lunged at y/ex/n as he moved towards y/n. âStay the hell away from her,â he growled, tackling her ex to the ground as soon as he made contact with him. The downpour of rain refused to cease as the two wrested in the mud.
Y/ex/n groaned and kicked at Harrisonâs grip as he wormed his way against the muddy ground in an attempt to escape. Not that he needed much effort since Harrison was already leaping up upon having seen y/ex/n had managed to grab y/nâs ankle and trip her on his way down.
Harrison shook with increased anger and fear as he noticed y/n had seemingly hit her head on the fence post as she fell. She was now rubbing her head and appeared dazed. He quickly pulled back y/ex/nâs fingers until he was forced to let go of y/nâs leg. However, Harrisonâs shifted focus allowed y/ex/n the chance to get the upper hand. Y/ex/n swiped his leg across the ground, knocking Harrisonâs legs out from under him. Harrison shifted his body so as to not fall on y/n on his way down. He quickly gazed over at her to check on her before he pushed himself up just as y/ex/n began trying to punch him.
Harrison had lost count of how many strikes heâd exchanged with y/ex/n before he saw the red and blue lights light up the night sky. He saw the fear in y/ex/nâs eyes when he realized the police had arrived. However, he also picked up on the fact that y/ex/n was now hoping to flee to avoid being arrested. So, Harrison used y/ex/nâs sudden lack of focus to knock him to the ground and promptly dropped himself onto the man, elbow pressed into his stomach forcefully.
As he pinned y/ex/n to the ground, Harrison turned to face y/n, who was now leaning against the fence, her eyes barely open but on nevertheless. He tried to catch his breath, eyes stuck on her as he waited for the police to fully make their way over. The ceaseless rain continued to pour on both of them, beginning to wash away the mud that had coated Harrisonâs shirt. However he worried that the intensity of the rainfall was going to make y/n sick. He wanted to get her out of the rain and into the warmth, safety, and comfort of his home. But, he refused to let y/ex/n flee the way heâd done once before. Tonightâs events were the result of his last escape. Harrison wasnât going to let that happen again.
Once the officers had located the group and assured Harrison that they had a hold of y/ex/n, he leapt up and rushed over to where y/n was being examined by an officer. âAre the medics coming?â He asked the officer who was evaluating y/n as she rested on the ground.
Y/n weakly reached for Harrison, her gaze blurry from the spinning inside her head. Her lips curled into a faint smile as her boyfriend immediately noticed her need and interlaced their hands. She could hear that me was talking, but she wasnât sure what was being said. She was beyond exhausted and now that she and Harrison were both safe, she felt she could finally rest her eyes.
âI see them,â Harrison said in response to the officerâs comment about how the medical response team was on their way. His heart rate accelerated as he watched her heavy eyes close. âIâm taking her to them,â he stated, not waiting for the officerâs approval. He quickly scooped y/n up from the ground and held her to him as he rushed across both backyards and to the ambulance. âSheâs been c-c.. stabbed, and her head- she uhh hit her head, I think sheâs got a concussion, and possibly an infection now from the mud given her open wound, and-â he began rattling off to the nearest medic.
âAlright, sir, sir,â the medic attempted to interrupt. âWe understand mate,â he nodded in acknowledgment. âSet her âere,â he advised, moving so Harrison could reach the stretcher.
âCan I⊠I can go with, right?â Harrison asked, gripping y/nâs hand tightly as he gazed down at her sleeping form.
The medic looked at the officer that had followed Harrison and y/n to the ambulance with uncertainty. He wasnât sure what had transpired tonight other than that it was a domestic incident. But he wasnât sure who had been the victim or victims versus perpetrator(s).
âShe,â the officer started as he nodded at the woman on the stretcher. âGave her story to the dispatcher when she called, heâs,â he continued, now nodding towards the man loyally waiting by the womanâs side. âThe current boyfriend and she said he was protecting her. Weâll take the other man to a different hospital, he can go with you and her, weâll send a detective to meet them there,â the officer concluded, moving backwards so the medics could close the ambiance doors and leave.
Y/n groaned at the sharp pain in her head as she peeled her eyes open. The brightness in the room made her want to scream. She felt a tender squeeze against her palm and turned towards the direction of the sensation. Her lips curled up in a sleepy smile as she met her boyfriendâs face. âHi Haz,â she greeted lovingly.
âHi sweetheart,â Harrison whispered. âI tried to turn the light down as much as possible,â he explained with a sympathetic frown. âDoctors say you have a bad concussionâ.
Y/n hummed in acknowledgment of this information. âAnd what about-â
âYour stomach is stitched up,â Harrison sighed. âBut, they at least made them y/f/c,â he chuckled humorlessly. He squeezed her hand once again, âitâll take some time to heal, but youâll be alrightâ.
Y/n grinned softly and squeezed Harrisonâs hand. âI appreciate that information, Harrison, I do,â she commented. âBut, I was actually going to ask about-â.
âOh, right,â Harrison muttered. âHeâs been arrested, they have camera footage from your security system and your neighborâs backyard camera, so while they will likely still want your report, they said it should be an easy conviction.â He huffed. âSaid he broke his nose, some ribs, and,â Harrison paused and shook his head. âDoesnât matter.. itâs not like itâs enough. After all, apparently the doctors said he-â.
Y/n stiffly turned to face Harrison better. She squeezed his hand as his eyes widened with worry over her movements. âHarrison, honey,â she cooed. âI donât give a damn about him,â she muttered. âI was trying to ask how you are. Have you been looked at?â
Harrison blushed. He shook his head in disbelief and leaned forward, slightly out of his seat as he moved to kiss her forehead very gently. âYes,â he promised, sitting back down. âThey forced me to be evaluated for the case. I didnât leave your side though, I⊠I made them do it here, but I did have to sit over there,â he mumbled, pointing to the chair by the counterspace in her hospital room.
âHarrison,â y/n chuckled lightly, squeezing his hand to bring his attention back to her. âThatâs okay baby,â she promised, âIâm just glad you came for meâ.
âOf course I came for you,â Harrison whispered breathily.
Y/n smiled warmly and squeezed Harrisonâs hand again. âWhat did the doctors say when they evaluated you?â She questioned.
âNothing to worry about darling,â Harrison answered, brushing some hair from y/nâs face with his hand that wasnât holding hers.
âIâll be the one to decide that,â y/n argued knowingly.
Harrison chuckled and shook his head. âFew broken fingers and some bruises, nothing major, promise,â he hummed.
âGood,â y/n sighed in relief. She shifted until she was lying flat against the hospital bed one again. âI know you wonât accept it, but thank you again Harrison, truly,â she whispered, her eyes getting heavy again.
Harrison watched as her blinks began to last longer, her fatigue taking its toll on her again. âIâll always fight for you my love, youâre safe now, close your eyes and rest,â he encouraged, stroking her cheek with his free hand as he watched her eyelids get heavier. He sighed in peace as he watched her go back to sleep, pleased everything was going to be okay.

Unemployed and Uneducated
Summary: Peter is desperate for a job after months of living on his own
Warnings: none really, just a few mentions of loneliness and a lost relative
âPeter Parker?â A woman from the unemployment office calls into an overall dejected lobby. Peter looks up from holding his head in his hands as his knee bounces anxiously.
The same few thoughts flood his brain:
* Iâm pathetic
* I canât do this much longer
* I canât do anything
* I need help
- Who the hell could I ask?
- Iâm fucking alone!
- I couldnât save May, who else canât I save?
* I am so fucked in the head
- Lost everyone
1. First my parents
2. Ben
3. Tony
4. May
5. Everyone else, including my best friend, my doppelgÀngers, and of course, the love of my life
Man this shit is gonna give me a complex
* I am so depressed
- I should get medication
- I canât afford medication
- Thatâs why Iâm at a fucking unemployment agency
* And Iâm back to being pathetic
âHere,â Peter pushes away all of those invasive thoughts for the next fifteen minutes in that womanâs office. She types his name into her computer and pushes her glasses up, as if that will change the astonishing lack of⊠anything.
Peter sits there, awkwardly, eyes darting around the room as if he has no clue about what sheâs seeingâ not seeing on that screen.
âIâm sorry,â she starts, âI think weâll just have to âbuild your resume on print.â The red haired middle agedâGina, Peter reads the name on the plaque on her deskâ grabs a pen and some paper.
âSo where did you graduate?â
âOh, I uh⊠I had to, uh⊠dropoutâŠ?â
Gina nods and writes something down on the paper. She kinda reminds Peter of a glorified guidance counselor⊠but maybe a little meaner. âLook Peter, Iâm not gonna lie to you, this isnât looking good for you. Without a GED and a diploma shits gonna get real difficult. I seriously recommend you getting that GED. I canât give you some entry level jobs to start until you get that degree.â
Now itâs Peterâs turn to nod.
âSo tell me about what you like to do.â
âApparently, I like to self sabotage a lot.â He filters himself so he doesnât projectile word-vomit all over this strangerâs office.
âI wanted to be an engineer. I had my sights set on MIT before I had to drop out.â
âââ
Trying to think of a time before a traumatic event is extremely difficult. A victim of rape can be triggered by something that once was innocent, like a lemonade stand; a son who used to be pushed by his father on the football field might not be able to play football ever again after they stop talking to their father; a victim of domestic violence might not be able to respond to sudden movements from their partners the same way. And for all of those people, looking back on their memories before the abuse might be difficult to do with a totally unbiased opinion.
Somethingâs you never forget, like the way Aunt May felt in Peterâs arms just before she died. Or the words she spoke in those final moments, the same words his uncle Ben said when he died.
âNothing will ever be the same.â
Peter canât afford flowers for Mayâs grave, but he still visits her grave three times a week on average, no less than two in that span.
And thatâs where he is right now. Sitting across from her grave stone with his journal between the hedge and him.
âSo Iâm still looking for a job, and I havenât really had time to make friends, but itâll get better soonâŠâ as soon as he feels a tear fall down his right cheek, he sniffles, blinks. And uses his sleeve to wipe it all away.
âGood God, May. Why didnât you tell me itâd be so hard to make it on my own?â He chuckled somberly, the same way anyone would when they were trying to hide their emotions.
âI donât want to keep going.â He cries. âI donât know if I can.â
âYou can.â A familiar, yet unfamiliar voice says from behind him. âSheâd want you to.â
Itâs Happy.
Peter closes the journal and stands up as fast as possible for him.
âSorry,â Happy starts, âI didnât mean to eavesdrop.â
Peter hides his face and canât even bring himself to self to glance at Happy even by accident, âNo no, donât worry about it. Itâs fine. I should probably leave anyways.â He starts to step away but Happy takes hold of his jacket sleeve.
âWait, let me take you to get something to eat,â He smiles, âplease. My treat.
Tom takes a moment to consider the offer. The most surprising thing about his moment of hesitation is the fact that he thought about saying no.
âWhy would you want to take a stranger out to eat?â He asks.
âI donât know. You just remind me of someone that I canât quite place.â
Peter smiles with a glint of hope in his eyes.
â â â
âSo,â Happy starts as Peter munches on his cheeseburger, âwhatâs a young kid like you doing visiting someoneâs grave instead of going to school?â
Peter puts down the burger, âI had to drop out actually.â Happy leans back on the booth bench.
âItâs not drugs or anything,â Peter reassures the older man, âI just donât have the money for anything and I need to earn money for rent.â
âSo was May helping you with that before she died?â Happy asks.
Peter debates being forthcoming about his past, but decides against it because he doesnât have the strength anymore. He lost that at the Statue of Liberty.
âYeah. My parents died and she always managed to find someway to help me.â Peter smiled.
âI was her boyfriend,â Happy begins, âshe never mentioned you. Peter, are you hiding something?â Peter gets a l little nervous.
âI went to the soup kitchen after school. She helped so many that she probably had no idea the effect she had on me.â He covers his ass.
Happy is still suspicious but doesnât push. âWell, Peter, you seem like a good kid. Iâm sure everything will work out eventually.â
âThank you, Mr. Hogan.â
âSo whereâs the first place on your list?â He asks.
âWhat?â
âYou said youâre looking for a job, tell me where youâre looking and I can give you a ride.â
âStormyâs Autobody.â
