...Aaand the award for 'Most Self-Indulgent Fic Writer, Likely To The Possible Annoyance Of Everyone Reading', goes to... me!!!
HI EVERYBODY~! I am back at long last! I've never posted anything in chapters before, so hopefully everything turns out okay! Chapter 1 is all I'm satisfied enough with to post at the moment, but I will be posting the rest when they're ready (which should not be too far away). I've been working on these almost every day since April!
"The fun stuff" (tk, sex, etc) doesn't happen until Chapters 3 and 4, so stay tuned for those if that's all you want, but 1 is all soft and sweet and 2 has some nice soft moments after the pain. So even though the fic as a whole contains all that, since I have to post the chapters 1-by-1 here, I'm not tagging Chapters 1 or 2 with any tk-or-sex-related tags.
In total with all chapters, I'm breaking my highest word count record again, by *an absolute TON* this time!!! (Chapter 3 alone is already 6.5k words, and it's not even done!!)
Requiem hit me like a truck, my Leon obsession came back in full force, and I was seeing some people make their takes on what Luis would look like in Requiem era if he had survived RE4R, and I was like, "oh god, I'm still not over Luis", so I decided to write my own ideal ending so he could live. (SO MANY OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS ARE ALL CANONICALLY DEAD ;-;)
Basically, Leon sprayed Luis’ wound with first aid spray and gave him some herbs for good measure as soon as he could, which stopped him immediately dying. Then Ada rescued them all in her helicopter (no going separate ways in this one! lol.) and he got sent straight to a good hospital once they got stateside. He’s of course kinda traumatised (join the club), but at least he isn’t fucking dead!!! (;-;)
Also, just establishing:
- We know Leon can speak basic Spanish (although I really wish he would try harder on the pronunciation!). So Luis uses snippets of it when he feels like, since he knows Leon will understand him. (Unfortunately I am still a beginner learner and also only have a basic understanding, so I'm not writing full conversations or anything in it; I absolutely refuse to resort to Google Translate cause you can never guarantee it's going to give you stuff humans would actually say.)
- Luis is 100% fluent in English (it makes sense to me that he would be after working with Umbrella for years).
This is basically already how it is in the game, but occasionally I see some people writing Luis speaking a *lot* more Spanish (props to them, I just can't), or giving him really improper English, so I just wanted to address that I'm not going to be doing either of those things.
Alright, that's all, please enjoy!

"We're out of that hellhole!" Luis stepped out of the lift, raising his arms and taking a deep breath. "The fresh air is calling our names! We made it all this way... oye, credit where it is due. You are pretty amazing, you know that?"
Leon followed him out, sweeping his pistol across the open space. No immediate threats. Finally, a break. "Flattery's gonna get you exactly nothing with me."
"Ay, so harsh! It was merely a statement! Like I said, I’m the brains, you’re the brawn... and a very good brawn you are... but that does not mean you don’t have brains yourself!” He was allowing himself to have a little more fun now that there was a moment of peace.
Leon glared at him for a second before accepting the situation. No danger at the moment. Fine. He gave a sort of half-scoff, half-laugh, to which Luis grinned wider, pleased with his success.
“Gee, thanks. Real backhanded, that." He looked around again, and still, nothing. But, ugh, the feeling of being watched hadn't gone... "Okay. Should do some maintenance before we go any further. Hang tight for a second, yeah?”
"Sure!"
Leon sat down against the stone wall, ejected his empty magazine, and opened his case, getting the tools for said maintenance on his gun.
"Sooo... even you cannot resist my charms, eh~?” Luis sat down next to him and gave him a playful nudge in the shoulder. “Oh, would you look at mine, too?”
“You know what? Not even gonna respond to that.” Leon absorbed the nudge steadily and shook his head with an un-serious exasperation. “...Okay, give it here.”
Luis grinned again and gave Leon his gun. Leon set his own back down, then got to work, inspecting Luis' for anything that needed attention. Luis watched intently, Leon’s expert know-how intriguing him.
"Hmm... doesn’t look like it actually needs servicing. I'll just clean it then."
"Anything I could do to be useful?"
“I don’t know, surely you can figure something out? Wait, I'm done. Here. Now just to finish mine... jammed on me once, can’t risk it happening again...”
“¡Muchas gracias!" He gratefully took his gun back and placed it down next to Leon’s case. "Ah, I know, I can organise these supplies.”
“Go for it.” Leon did the final once-over on his piece, wiping down the slide and racking it a couple times out of habit.
Luis picked up the case and began sorting through it. After counting the amount of herbs; spray; extra ammo; tools; bits and bobs; and trinkets in it, and grouping them accordingly, he was very tempted to inquire about certain things, but thought better of it. He sat back on his heels and continued to watch Leon, just at more of a distance. There really wasn’t much else he could do.
Upon setting down his tools and looking up, Leon met with Luis’ oddly soft gaze. “...What?”
“Joder.” Luis muttered. “Just thinking about this whole mess. I am so very glad to have met you.”
“...Oh.” Leon dropped his head for a moment, staring at the ground, trying to collect his thoughts. “...Heh. Yeah. Back atcha.”
Luis got closer, shuffling on his knees back to his original spot at Leon’s side. “Mm... You know, you make me jealous with all those muscles... muy guapo~.”
“I, uhh, thanks...?" I mean, you're pretty fit yourself... well, aside from the smoking... ...He decided not to say that- he didn't want to be having a whole discussion right now, they needed to just be collecting their bearings and continuing on...
“¡Sí, sí! ...Oh? What is it?”
Leon’s expression had gone from just barely visibly flustered to what appeared to be somewhat troubled thought. He gets on my nerves like nobody else, but... I bet I can be annoying too. We're just trying to cope... though it really doesn’t help that he’s so goddamn handsome...
He wasn’t even looking directly at Luis anymore, rather to some indistinct spot in the distance. Luis tried to follow his gaze and was unsuccessful- he really wasn’t looking at anything at all. Well, at least it wasn’t like anything nasty had suddenly appeared...
“¿Qué pasa, Leon?” Luis’ voice was very gentle.
Leon’s brows furrowed deeper. It took another moment, but eventually he returned to what Luis was fairly sure was normal. Leon looked up, startled, as Luis had shifted to practically hovering over him. “Woah- oh, sorry, I was... thinking...” he trailed off, Luis’ expression indicating such concern that he felt an actual pang in his chest.
“Gracias a dios, I thought perhaps you were getting sick again...”
“Bueno. Oh, am I?” He looked down. His knees were just barely pressing against the side of Leon’s leg. “Ah, I am.” But he didn’t move away. Instead he reached and softly put his hands on Leon’s shoulders.
Leon remained very still, fighting the instinct to just duck under his hands and stand up, waiting to see where this was going.
He moved his right hand now to cup Leon’s face, murmuring, “Qué lindo...”
Leon almost flinched. Almost. His voice subconsciously dropped to match Luis'. “Hey- what’s gotten into you..?”
His question was answered as Luis began to lean forward, aiming to... kiss him?! His pulse quickened considerably- what a strange set of events the past few hours were... and now this. Definitely not the time or place he'd have chosen for... well, anything, really. He had to make a decision fast: stop him, or let it happen... man, he didn’t particularly want to do either...
It happened. Leon ended up remaining still, letting Luis connect... on his cheek. Well, that was welcome over the alternative- he’d resigned himself to the thought that Luis was just going to go all-in at this point... he didn't think he was ready for that yet...
He smelled of a nice cologne at first, but smoke crept through. It was probably seeped into his jacket more than anything, as he hadn't had access to any smokes for any of the time they had known eachother. Leon figured he himself probably smelled of crushed herbs; earth, from all the running and rolling around in the dirt he’d ended up being subjected to throughout this journey; and blood, which was mostly enemies’ thankfully; so he couldn't really complain.
“What was that for..?”
“Because... because it’s dangerous out here, and I like you. I know... I know we should leave, but...”
“Okay... well, it was.. nice, I guess... I can’t just say ‘back atcha’ again, can I...” He sighed. “I like you too, alright? Now, yes, we really should get going.”
But he couldn’t easily get up. Luis was still essentially on top of him, and he wasn’t making any effort to get off.
“You plan on moving anytime soon?” Leon had a bit of a sharp edge to his tone. But the look he received sent another pang into his chest. “...Sorry. Do you need something..?”
“I.. I need... you.” The man's voice shook slightly, the look on his face becoming almost pleading.
“Oh.” Leon softened. For all his outward confidence and schmoozing, Luis sure was a regretful and rather sad man... God, I get that...
“...Mierda. Please, forget I said anyth-”
“-Okay, now I really want you to shut up.” Leon figured, they were already on the ground, what was a bit more dirt? And he didn’t want him to stay feeling like this... he could spare a couple more minutes to try to comfort him, and then he didn’t care what happened after, he was going to make them get out of there.
He grasped Luis’ upper arms to hold him steady, lifted his legs, put his boots just above Luis’ knees, and carefully pushed his legs out from under him, guiding his body to lie against his own, finally looping one of his arms around the man’s torso and resting his other hand on the back of his head.
After a grunt of absolute bewilderment and a following moment of silence, Luis settled, fully laying his head on Leon’s chest, and quietly remarked, “¡Por dios! You’re always suddenly doing crazy things!”
Leon found himself smiling softly. “Heh. Didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“No, no. But.. all that just to give me a hug? That was nuts! I thought you were going to knock me out or something for a moment there!”
“Yeah, I didn’t wanna give you a chance to think too much more.”
“...Thank you.”
Leon hummed in acknowledgement and began to slide his fingertips into Luis’ hair, stroking down his scalp and out through the ends with the same care he would have given an anxious cat. The consistent soft rise and fall of his chest as he breathed and the low rumble of his voice was working to soothe him, but he actively shuddered when he began to stroke through his hair. Leon felt him move suddenly and paused.
“You okay?”
“Ay, sorry, I- That feels.. good...”
“Mm. Heard it was supposed to, that’s why I’m doing it.”
Leon resumed stroking his fingertips through his hair, and felt Luis shudder again, a sound rather like a genuine whimper leaving him now.
Damn, does it seriously feel that good? That’s.. kind of.. cute...
Luis ended up gripping a fistful of Leon’s shirt at his side as he continued, genuinely needing something to hold onto for support as fire was building inside him. This soft touch had certainly been comforting at first, but it was swiftly becoming very hot for him the longer they stayed like this...
Luis couldn’t take it anymore. “¡Gahhh, qué caliente!” He exclaimed. “You have got to be trying to give me un aneurisma! This is too much to hold back from!” He pushed himself up, near-desperation burning in his eyes.
“Woah! Easy, tiger! I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to work you up, I was only trying to be calmin-ngh!”
Luis finally did go all-in, just not quite in the way Leon might have expected. The initial action of grabbing Leon’s shirt had further kindled his desire to get more intimate with the man. He slid his hand across the fabric, going over his abdomen, getting a thorough feeling of his muscles through it, which is what had made Leon choke on his words and give a sort of surprised grunt. Luis went up his abs and eventually settled on his pec.
“Please? May I?”
“Guh.” Leon swallowed, trying to keep from getting worked up himself. He spoke through his teeth, which had involuntarily gritted upon this development. “I- I don’t- bit late for consent, isn't it-? But- ugh- okay...”
“Ah, damn, you’re right, I’m sorry, I just-” Luis began rambling an apology before registering that he had agreed at the end. “Oh, thank you... you’re gorgeous,” he breathed. “...Did you call me ‘tiger’? Oho, I like that~!”
“Nngh,” He groaned again as Luis slid his hand across to the other pec, “Guess I did.. It’s just an expression, but, uh, you’re welcome?”
“I will happily be tigre, as you are already león~!” There was an excitement on his face that said he didn’t do this kind of thing nearly as often as he would like people to believe, or at least, not with men.
Leon just nodded, trying calm himself... he hadn't felt charged close contact like this in several years. Ada... but she had actually kissed him full-on...
Luis suddenly pulled his hand away, realising what exactly he was doing as the heat of the moment died down. “Ah, I.. I should ask. Were you.. really alright.. with that?”
Leon shut his eyes and put his head back until it touched the stone. Can’t believe I let that happen. ...Or, well, fuck. Maybe I can. “It’s... fine. I’m fine.” He lifted his head and pushed himself back to sitting more upright. “Thanks for checking.”
Luis followed suit, repositioning himself alongside him. “I’m so glad...”
“But- can we, um, talk, later? We really do need to leave.”
“O-oh, yes, thank you, for everything.” Luis hurriedly stood, brushed as much dirt and gravel off his clothes as he could, and retrieved his gun.
