Hey! I really enjoy your works, could you maybe do an after war disabled (left leg now malformed and extensive nerve damage, to the point of needing constant mobility aids) gn!reader x Shouto? Maybe meeting the family for the first time of something similar?
Hi! Thank you so much for the ask. I did a bit of research before starting, so I hope this is what you were looking for! I absolutely adore soft Shoto and I'm so glad I had a chance to showcase that in this fic! 💙❤️

A full year had passed since the end of the war - a year of stress, heartache, and pain. But it had been full of compassion, support, and love too. Every day brought a new challenge, a new struggle that felt like it was trying to warp your life all over again; but the moment you felt like giving up, he was there to lend his strength to you. Two-toned hair and mismatched eyes had become your greatest comfort in the months following the war, and they remained steadfast by your side even a year later.
You'd been a hero student alongside the rest of them. Enthusiasm filled your chest with pride and passion made your body feel like it was buzzing every chance you got to be in the field. That all came crashing down when you woke up in the hospital a week after everything had ended.
Bandages covered most of your body; some hiding burns and cuts, others desperately trying to hold your broken body together. The day after you came to was when the doctors finally told you your dreams of being a hero were over. Well, they didn't say that specifically; but the scars and awkward twisted shape of your leg said what they wouldn't.
To say you were devastated would be an understatement. It felt like everything you had worked for had been ripped away, leaving you feeling hollow and cold. You stopped speaking, stopped eating except when your parents visited - even then you'd only have a few small bites to appease them.
You might never walk again, would probably deal with pain for the rest of your life. How were you supposed to pretend everything was fine? Why did everyone expect you to put on a fake smile and accept the fact that your whole world came to an end in the wake of it all?
One day, after you'd run out of tears and the energy to keep a fake smile on your face, the door to your room opened. Your eyes were fixed on the world outside the window - the cars crawling by in the distance, an occasional plane climbing higher until it vanished from your sight. It wasn't time for the nurses to come check on you again, your parents had left an hour ago after you refused to speak with them.
It wasn't their fault; you were just tired of being strong for them. They should have been the ones supporting you. Instead, your mother cried every time she walked in the room and your father just looked at you with sorrow and pity in his gaze. You knew they loved you, but whatever they thought they were doing, wasn't helping.
Your mind continued to wander until a head of red and white hair entered your field of vision. Shifting your gaze, you blinked in surprise. Most of the others from class had already come to see you, some of your closer friends stopping by every couple of days to check in and spend time with you. This was the first time Todoroki had visited. Not that you blamed him either, from what you'd been told, he was only just well enough to leave his own room after the horrible burns he'd gotten fighting his brother.
"Your parents said you aren't eating."
It wasn't a question but you answered anyway, "Not hungry."
Your eyes drifted away from him and back to the window.
He stepped into your eyeline again, the faintest hint of a frown on his face, "You won't get better if you don't eat."
A scoff left you before you spoke, "Doesn't really matter either way."
His eyes narrowed, a true frown forming on his usually impassive face, "Of course it matters."
Your chest tightened at the anger in his tone.
"Why? It's not like I can go back to the life I had." You shrugged, the movement pulling on the bandages still covering your body, "So what's the point?"
It was meant to be a rhetorical question, so when he replied it took you a moment to register what he said, and a heartbeat longer to really let it sink in.
"I thought I lost you once. I never want to feel that again."
After that he came to your room every day, staying a little longer every time. It started with him just making sure you ate something. Then it turned into staying long enough to fill you in on any news he’d learned since the last time he visited. Until he was spending most of his free time with you.
Once you'd been released from the hospital and returned home, he came by every day after class - making sure to bring you any notes or homework that had been assigned. He even rearranged his work-study schedule to be able to go with you to as many of your physical therapy appointments as possible.
Your relationship began to shift too - lingering touches, eye contact that lasted just a little too long. Until, finally, you were well enough to return to the dorms.
You’ll never forget the pride on his face the day you walked through the doors again. It was a struggle - you were still getting used to the crutches and had to keep your wheelchair close just in case. But his face said everything words couldn’t.
He kissed you for the first time that day.
You were seated on the bed in your dorm room, stooped over as you adjusted the brace on your leg. It was annoying to wear, sometimes uncomfortable, but it did make it a little bit easier to walk. Even with it though, you still needed to use a cane or your crutches. There were still days when the pain would flare up to the point you had to use your wheelchair, or if you over did it the day before and were just too tired to keep yourself upright.
"Are you sure you are feeling up for this? We can always reschedule."
Shoto seemed more nervous than you were about finally meeting his family. They'd been asking for months, but with both of your schedules being so busy it had been hard to find a convenient time for everyone to get together.
"Sho," straightening to look him in the eye, you leveled a stern look at your boyfriend. "We finally managed to find a date for this to work. I'll be fine."
He eyed you warily for a heartbeat before his gaze softened and he nodded.
"Besides, we can bring my crutches just in case," you gave him a smile, reaching out to squeeze his fingers gently.
"Alright. But if you get tired or want to leave, anything, you tell me, okay?"
"I promise."
The kindness and genuine excitement that his family greeted you with shouldn't have surprised you, but it did. His sister, Fuyumi greeted you at the door, bouncing with excitement while she waited for you to get your shoes off. When you had finally freed yourself of your sneakers, she threw herself at you in an unexpectedly gentle hug.
"It's so good to finally meet you!" Her arms wrapped around your shoulders to hold you for a moment before letting go.
Shoto's hand rested against your lower back offering quiet support and reassurance.
"It's lovely to meet you too. Shoto's told me a lot about you," she beamed at your words.
"C'mon! Mom and Natsu are waiting in the sitting room," waving over her shoulder as she led the pair of you deeper into the house.
A pulse of pain ran up your leg making you stagger slightly. Pausing in your steps, you leaned a little heavier on your cane while you recovered.
Mismatched eyes of blue and grey watched you with concern, but he didn't say anything. Once it passed, you gave him a nod before taking his outstretched hand.
Fuyumi stood in front of an open archway near the end of the hall. There was a softness to her expression while she watched the way you and Shoto interacted. Upon catching her eye, she gave you a bright smile before stepping into what you assumed to be the sitting room.
Rounding the corner, you were greeted with a warmly lit sitting room. Plush, comfortable looking couches were arranged in such a way to make conversation easy while also being angled just right to allow those using them to view the tv mounted on the wall if they wanted. One wall was lined with built-in shelves - books and decorations were interspersed with the occasional plant that made the room feel alive and welcoming.
Standing just to your left, Fuyumi introduced you to the two others seated on the couches. Natsuo bore a striking resemblance to Endeavor, though his appearance was softer - kinder in a way Endeavor could never hope to be. Rei was beautiful, her hair was cut short and you could see the scars from their fight with Touya.
She stood when you came into the room, stepping forward to take your hand in both of hers, "It's so lovely to meet you. I'm glad to finally have a face to put with all the stories Shoto has shared."
"I'm glad to meet you too. All of you." Casting your eyes at each of his family members present, the nerves that had been fluttering in your stomach began to settle.
Natsuo stood from his place on the couch but didn't approach, not wanting to crowd into the doorway like everyone else, "It's nice to see Shoto wasn't lying about some made up partner!"
The room chuckled at the remark, your boyfriend only cocking his head slight to the side, looking a little like a confused puppy.
"Why would I lie about them?"
Another round of laughter bounced around the room, you joining in this time when Shoto directed his confused expression to you.
"Don't worry about it, Sho," placing a hand on his arm, you made your way to find a place to sit.
Just before you could, another sharp pain raced through your leg making you suck in a quick breath at the lingering ache. Shoto appeared in front of you almost immediately, concern replacing his previous confusion.
"What do you need?"
The pain was fading slower this time, but it wasn't as sharp as it was just a moment before.
"I just need to sit for a minute and I'll be fine."
His eyes darted between your own for a heartbeat before he nodded and offered you his arm for extra support for the last few steps. Once he'd helped you down to the soft cushion, he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"I'll be back in a minute, okay?"
"Of course. I'll be fine," a tender smile you hadn't realized was there pulled at your face while you watched him leave the room, Fuyumi following close behind.
"It's good to see him so happy," Rei's soft voice tugged your attention away from where he disappeared.
"He's a good man, I don't think I would be in the position I am now if it hadn't been for him," Rei visibly relaxed at your words, as if they released some bit of tension that had been holding her too stiff for too long.
Natsuo let out a little laugh, "Well, he's absolutely smitten with you."
Heat rushed up the back of your neck and into your face at his words. Just as you were about to respond, Shoto reappeared with a mug of tea for you - handing it over before he sat beside you, one arm coming to rest along the back of the couch behind your shoulders. From the corner of your eye, you saw Fuyumi arrange a wheelchair you hadn't brought off to the side.
Turning to meet the two-toned gaze of the man beside you, your words were directed at his brother though your eyes never left Shoto's.
"It's a good thing I feel the same then."

Early mornings were always peaceful in this Pro Hero’s comfy apartment. He didn’t live an extravagant life, preferring small comforts instead. Why fill his life with unnecessary luxuries when he could give you the world that you deserved. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen, as he stared out the window seeing the sunrise. It amazed him how something so simple can be so captivatingly beautiful.
His thoughts drift to you, and how he was blessed to have you in his life when others simply took you for granted. A small smile made its way to his face and he turned to look at his bedroom door debating if to go and wake you or simply let you rest a bit longer. He looked down at his watch and a quiet sigh escaped. He had a meeting with his father in three hours. The strained relationship between them was better than it was when he was younger, but still felt like stepping on glass when talking to that man.
He decided that he would email his father and say something came up, after all why waste his one day off this week trying to make a conversation not turn into a yelling match that just would sour the rest of his day. He got up from the comfy couch and made his way to the kitchen. He poured coffee into two cups. A smile returned when he thought of how happy you get when woken up to coffee made just the way you like it. He memorized it after the first morning you stayed over a year ago.
“Sho? Why are you up so early? I thought it was your day off?” Your sleepy voice asked from the bedroom door.
“My love, why are you up? I was going to make some breakfast before waking you.” He replied ignoring your questions.
“It got cold without you.” You replied with a pout while pulling on the hem of his pajama shirt that you just threw on. You walked up to him and wrapped your arms around him. He hugged you back a bit tighter. You made everyday worth it.
“Let’s forget breakfast for now, come back to bed with me, let's just have it be me and you for a few more hours.” You pleaded. He lifted your chin and stared into your eyes. They remind him of the sunrise, just so full of warmth and hope. His life has been devoid of it for long when younger that as he grew up he tried to find happiness in everything. He leans down and kisses you, his lips are soft and so warm. You wrapped your arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. It was a sweet kiss, one filled with so much love.
“I love you.” He whispers, he feels if he is too loud the peacefulness in the apartment would vanish.
“I love you too Sho, so very much.” You said as you nuzzled your nose into his cheek. “So, bed right?” You asked and instead of answering he simply grabbed you by waist and threw you over his shoulder and laughed as you pouted. “I can walk Sho plus aren’t I heavy?”
“Heavy? I'm a Pro hero, Love, You’re as light as a flower, but if you’re doubting my strength...perhaps I should train with Midoriya and Bakugo more often, hmm?” He simply states as he walks towards the bed. He lays you gently on your side of the bed and lightly kisses your cheek.
“Thank you Sho, baby.” You tell him while curling up further into the bed and hugging the blanket. He goes to lay on his side in front of you and holds your hand giving them light kisses.
“Sho baby, what's wrong? And don’t you dare try lying to me.”
“The meeting with my father today, I have a feeling it’s going to be about his retirement. There's been rumors going around that he wants to give me his agency, probably thinks I'll continue his stupid legacy he is obsessed with. I hate it. I don't want to be a legacy, I want to be better than him. I want to be everything he isn't. I don't want his name to be associated with me anymore. I want to create my own path in this world. I simply want to be seen as Shoto”. He held you as he cried, tears staining your shirt.
He tried focusing on how your hands felt running through his hair, how lovely your perfume smelled, and how you tried to calm him by humming a lullaby. You finally spoke once his breathing calmed down enough.
“You are better than him Sho, he doesn’t care what the world thinks of him as long as he's number 1, compared to you giving it your all to be a source of comfort. You show everyone respect and kindness. I have never met someone with a bigger heart, you might not be able to express your feelings well but your actions speak volumes. Everyday you try to be a better hero than you were yesterday.” He couldn't be more in love with you at that moment. Your words confirmed what he knew from the moment he met you. For you his worries confirmed the type of man he would never become.
“My love, would you do me the honor of marrying me?” You froze at his question and stayed quiet. “Love? Do you not wanna marry me?”
He looks up to you and sees you pouting as you tell him; “I was supposed to ask you at lunch and you ruined my surprise” He just keeps looking at you.
“Is that all? If it makes you feel better I was going to ask you at dinner”
''Sho you don't understand, I have been planning this for a whole two weeks! Denki and Mina were going to decorate our favorite picnic spot and Katsuki has been perfecting his cold soba recipe. He said he would and I quote: ‘You wouldn't know good cold soba if he threw it in your icyhot face.’ I swear Sho it's going to happen still and you will act surprised or I swear cold soba will be banned from this house for two months and what do you mean you were going to ask at dinner?”
“Midoriya and Uraraka helped me book your favorite restaurant just for us, even had an outfit picked out and scheduled to be delivered and I believe there were also plans for you to have a spa day. If you want me to cancel it all I can..."
“Don't you dare finish that sentence, everyone has worked so hard to plan these proposals, so we can't let them down, you understand!"
"I'm still unclear if you are saying yes to me asking earlier" You sighed before giving his forehead a quick kiss.
"I would be honored to marry you, Sho"
He realized that it wasn't mornings that were peaceful, it was you that made them that way. Only you were able to calm his mind and bring so much needed warmth into his soul. He tugged you closer to his chest and chuckled at the thought of the two proposals. He always thought that marriage was a dream he would never get to achieve but here he was holding the love of his life, and would get to hear you say yes for a second time. He realized you had said yes, no hesitation, no second guessing just a yes filled with love and for the first time in a very long time he was happy to feel the warmth.

- this man has trouble expressing himself sometimes because he never really got any affection when he was young, so I believe his love language would be acts of servitude and gifts (probably stole his dad's credit card not gonna lie)
- play with his hair, put little braids in his hair, ruffle it, do anything with it! It makes him feel safe and he finds it comforting.
- Cup his cheek and use your thumb to gently stroke his scar, he won't let anyone else touch his scar but you
- Hold him, cuddle him and never let him go.
- Soft kisses, he's so scared of hurting you that he wouldn't go much further unless you made it clear that you were comfortable with it
- The both of you openly trash talk Endeavor
- He loves physical contact with you, like holding your hand for example, it reminds him that you are there for him and you support him
- You're his personal cheer leader at any event, you are always there to support him!
- If Endeavor steps out of line or goes to far when it comes to Shoto's quirk you instantly step in, not caring if you get burnt, and that always snaps Shoto out of self-doubt and helps him stand up to his father.
- Treasure this boy and you will always get him to open up a little bit more
i am so busy these days with college, how do you think clingy shoto would react to me being busy with work and hardly having time to see him? and at times when i am at home i am extremely exhausted , like i am working like a zombie 🧟
He’s constantly pouting cause he can’t always see you and then when you’re home yours working. He’ll sit by your feet or next to you while you work when you are home and then when you finally stop and go to sleep he’s pulling you and cuddling with you as much as he can. If it’s a late night and you’re working he’ll come to where you are and sit you in his lap and wrap his arms around your waist as you work. He’ll sit like that as long as you work and eventually you’ll look back and find his head on your shoulder and him asleep
welcome back to no one asked but I still did it and fucked it up too.
But seriously its TODOROKI eating SOBA and at this point i have to make my own serotonin for my brain so he is soft and i am happy. use these if you want.
