lucy had been on cloud nine for days. bexley finally moving in with her had solidified their future in a way she couldn't even imagine. of course, she never had any doubts in the first place but it was still very surreal. they had slowly rebuilt their relationship over the last year, and this was their home now, not just hers. a solid foundation for them to continue building their future together. for the longest time, that was a fantasy that had was so far out of reach. but she knew dwelling on the past never did good for anyone, so all lucy could do was smile as she placed her hands over her girlfriend's eyes and led her out of the bedroom. "okay, i know i've been acting sketchy all day but i promise it's for a good reason." a laugh escaped her lips. she'd left work early to come home and ensure she had enough time to set everything up for their surprise date night. candles spread across the room, the lights dimmed creating a relaxed, but romantic atmosphere. there was wine and lasagna set up at the dining table for them as well. once they were in the dining room, lucy slowly lowered her hands to her sides, feeling giddy despite how often they did these types of things. now it just had a whole new meaning to it in her eyes. "go ahead and open them. now bex."

a low groan slipped past her lips as she blearily opened her eyes to the sun shining rudely in her eyes. she turned her head, the memories of last night coming back. a newfound feeling of peace and contentment washed over her as she observed bexley sleeping peacefully. lucy leaned over and placed a gentle kiss to the side of her head and smiled softly. quietly, she slipped out of the bed and threw on a t-shirt. bexley had travelled a long way to get here so lucy wanted to let her sleep in. though, she roused her gently and whispered, “hey, i’m going downstairs to make some breakfast. you come down when you’re ready.” she padded out of the bedroom and made her way to the kitchen, beginning to root through the cabinets pulling out various ingredients.

tex had been so caught up it what had just happened between the two he had completely forgot she hadn’t said the three words back to him. what she had said was enough to convince him that she had felt the same. at her words his cheeks flushed paired with a dimpled grin. he’d imagined a million scenarios where she had said the words to him, a million different ways, it almost didn’t feel real but it very much was and he’d never felt so much love for another person. “it’s okay, you can say that to me all you want,” he whispered between them. he continued to hold her, his hand gently soothed her back, still comprehending that she was his. he couldn’t wait to explore with her, to share everything with her. as she kissed him, each time he kissed her back softly. the secrecy would be hard, especially with something so exciting but he would do what he had to for her. blue eyes fluttered shut as she ran her hand through his hair, something that relaxed his body completely. molly’s words caused his smile to only grow, he couldn’t have said it any better himself. each kiss had him completely under her spell, “it’s going to be the greatest adventure we’ve ever been on. even better than the time we snuck out of our rooms each night that summer you came with my family to the resort at the country club when we were eleven to watch for shooting stars.” it was one of the fondest memories he had with her, always inseparable. “i want to just whisk you away for a night, anywhere you’d want,” he spoke before he closed the gap between them again.

now that it was right in front of her, this was the obvious thing all along. so caught up in not understanding her feelings or believing she wasn’t worthy of feeling them because they were just friends, she’d deprived herself of the best feeling she’d ever experienced. her life was so intrinsically tied to his, most of her memories growing up included him and his family. “you can take me anywhere, any time,” molly spoke as her lips pressed to the corner of his mouth, nose nudging him. she wasn’t lying, either, if he said a time and place she’d just show up. the benefit of practically knowing him since birth meant she trusted him, maybe even more than she trusted her own family. she knew tex like she knew herself, better than she knew the back of her hand, so there was less walls and barriers, the only wall fell down when she kissed him and now she got to be herself, but a version of herself that was his.

Ceder Grove was probably the wet dream for someone desperate for traditional values and knowing the kind of man her father used to be, Allison couldn’t understand why he wanted her to spent any time there at all. But those were the terms, three months in her aunt Maribel’s home, in her father’s hometown and then she could finally sell his house and be done with it all. At least it gave her something to do with her summer, still fairly newly single and avoiding all her so-called friends. Coming down the stairs, she ignored Maribel’s veiled insult about her missing breakfast, but it was eleven and Allison couldn’t imagine getting up any earlier in the summer. As she turned the corner into the kitchen, she noticed that there was someone she didn’t recognise standing there beside her aunt and she gave a slight, confused smile. “Hi...” Noticing her confusion, Maribel quickly introduced them and she found out she was looking at her tour guide around Ceder Grove, Logan. As her aunt left them to get acquainted, she approached, searching the cupboard for a granola bar or something else small to eat. “Look, you really don’t have to do this. I’m sorry Aunt Maribel dumped me on you, but we can just tell her we had a nice day together and leave it at that. I’m a big girl, I can find my own way.”

Harlow hoped the redhead would say yes. It seemed like they’d both had a busy week, and despite wanting to see each other, it just hadn’t happened. And Harlow missed the other woman, though she didn’t hold it against Paxton that they hadn’t found the time to be together - that was just life. After all, they were two adults with lives and jobs. And it was just as much Harlow’s ‘fault’. But maybe tonight would be the night. @soft-drabbles​

it was the last place molly ever expected to be again. what had once been her home too was now a stranger. the familiarity ran through her, but there was something off that she assumed was just the years that had passed. daughter on her hip, she looked down at her with the hints of a smile before she started moving again, hand raised to knock at the door. she felt sick with nerves, she’d been so sure leaving was the right thing to do at one point, only to regret it after it was too late to just go back. the positive pregnancy test had just made things more confusing, molly having to defend him while not talking to him any time someone suggested he was in the wrong for not being there. she may have left, but she never stopped loving him and the idea of anyone even disliking him made her stomach turn. fingers ran through her daughters hair, the curls she’d inherited from her father, while she waited to see if rafe would answer the door, or if he’d see it was her and pretend he wasn’t home. / @soft-drabbles​
