11. what do they hide from each other?
there's the more existential level of that they're still hiding parts of each other, because cassian and jyn are just... both very isolated people who keep most of the pieces of themselves close to the chest, and it's difficult to adjust to letting someone else in. it would take them a long time to be more open; it's just something that they'll have to work on over time.
on a more practical level, if one of them is injured, they will definitely try to hide the extent of it from the other. there's the element of them being so used to dealing with things on their own, but together, there's an added element of not wanting the other to worry. so they're Fine. it's Fine.

29. why do they fall a little more in love?
because it's so hard for them, as individuals, to trust, what jyn and cassian build with each other makes them fall in love a little bit more with each passing day. it's the way that jyn learns that cassian won't leave her if he can help it, that he wants to come back to her, and that she can trust that. it's the way that cassian knows he can trust jyn to watch his back, that he's safe with her, truly safe with another person for the first time in a very long time.
and it's the way that they can learn to be soft, and that that's okay, because they have each other. it's safe. it's trusted.
