I screenshotted these tags by @hetrez on someone else's post because what they say here resonated So Hard with me, but then I wasn't sure if it was good etiquette to reblog the original post with these tags attached as a screenshot or if etiquette dictates that only original posters reblog their posts with peer reviewed tag screenshots (open to feedback on this!), so I just sat on it. And now I can't find the original post these were attached to. But I still want to amplify them because they are Important To Me, so here you go.
my favorite thing about drawing grace is that he doesn’t need a lot of features to immediately be recognized as ryland grace
if i think too hard about how project hail mary couldn't have ended any other way, i start to go insane. any ending in which ryland grace and rocky are not together is the bad ending. they could've both separately gone home to their respective planets as heroes, but something would be missing because a piece of them would always be missing. to be loved is to be changed.
why is no one talking about the book reunion scene. did you know when grace explains that he’s going to die of starvation, rocky immediately tells him to leave and go back home, that he’ll just keep waiting, that erid might send another ship someday. i’m going crazy. rocky had probably completely accepted his fate and then grace miraculously appeared and gave him back his life and his home. and he was instantly willing to give it all up again just so grace could survive. can anyone hear me. this is insane. i’m insane
So that movie right? That Long Shot? Pretty good movie, and so far a pretty good book.

rest in peace to this diva
I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?
Don't become a housewife.

I should be doing more to appreciate the lack of marvel movies in today's popular culture. I once yearned for marvel movies to have this level of irrelevance. They used to feel almost ozymandian, like an empire that had no beginning and no end. and now tony stark iron man is naught but two vast and trunkless legs of stone.

🚀 Project Hail Mary 🚀 (2026) — dir. Phil Lord & Christopher Miller / based on Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
to me, the cruelest thing that eva stratt does is not the kidnappig itself. it's that she tells grace that he does not even have a dog. dr ryland grace, a man who dedicated his life to the greater good, first to science and then to teaching, does indeed not have a dog. and because of this, he has to spend his last precious moments on his home planet with the full knowledge that while he might be smart enough to save the world, he is not loved enough by anyone on it to be worth saving
