Day of Productivity - 04/06/18
Its been a while since I’ve last updated. Mostly because I’ve been swamped with work and also I’ve been lacking motivation to actually do them... I’ve taken to staying at the university library (1st photo) until 10pm(ish) since it forces me to actually do work. I can’t sleep if there’s no bed.
I went to my first hackathon last week (the 2nd photo). I think it helped with my motivation, It lasted two days. The first day was just a meet and greet as well as setting up teams and stuff. The second day was when we did the whole coding part. My team made a website template that we can use to put up our portfolio on (such as other projects and CVs...). Its not online though as that actually cost money and its only a template.
It was definitely a more casual hackathon (or so they say.) and it did feel like it. It was really fun and I plan on signing up for more. Its a really good way to gain experience, network as well as gain more projects for my portfolio (to bulk up my CV)
Anyway, I have roughly 2 weeks left before my final exams for this trimester. So I really need to get my shit together.
Day of productivity 26/03/19
I haven’t posted in a while actually -- my apologies
The photos above are just me trying to complete my assignment yesterday
I’ve basically been pulling all nighters -- I had a Java programming assignment due sunday midnight and another one for C/C++ due midnight yesterday.
(I did not do so well in those assignments...)
Because of the resulting lack of sleep I had, I decided to stay in today since my lectures are recorded and my lab session can be attended on another day, or done at home.
I also have another project due tomorrow, but this one is at 5:30pm. This is for my 3D modelling and animation class -- which I may have to pull another all-nighter since I haven’t finish my modelling and I know rendering it might take hours.. so wish me luck
I need to manage my time better since It took me way longer than I thought it would for the assignments-- so much so that I used like 6 hours of my 3 free late days already on the first assignment (for the C/C++ course). I also need to brush up on my java skills. I am struggling to complete my assignments.
~anyway~ back to work
Day of productivity - 11/02/19
My exam is next thursday. I can feel the panic coming in... I’m currently going through the mid-term test as well as lecture videos on the topics I am not confident in. I also printed of some past exam papers which I will go through later.
After that I have around 10 days of holiday before university starts up again for trimester 1. I plan on playing games to my heart’s content :D I recently restarted Fantasy Life on 3DS since I got the downloadable content but I forgot what had happened in the main story.
Anyway, back to work :)
Day of productivity - 18/06/19
Exams.
Day of productivity - 07/05/19
Was very productive today. I stayed out late in the library today to catch up on some notes. I kind of just stopped doing them halfway through the 3rd week of the semester. (I also didn’t do much during the easter break --which is fine since I really needed the break but now I have a lot of catching up to do.)
I might do this again tomorrow and hopefully at least 3 times a week. This should help me prepare for my test in two weeks as well as the exams next month.
I just find it more productive when there isn’t a nearby bed to lay down on. Also I’m just more productive at night I think.
Above are my notes for my software development course.
I also need to catch up on my C/C++ course. Also my algorithms & data structures course...
So yea.. I have a lot to do. Wish me luck~~
Day of Productivity - 06/03/19
Helloooo! I’m back!
This was day 3 of the new uni trimester. I am officially doing courses for my major. (Basically, first year courses are generic. Everybody in the engineering course has to take them)
Anyway, not doing so well, got a bit stressed today :D
I’ve missed two lectures already, I slept in for my 9am class and I had a clash for the other. Its is not that bad yet since both are recorded and I’ve already caught up with the other class since I have another lecture tomorrow.
I’ll watch the other when I get home tomorrow.
(The photos above are from my animation elective and my catch up session respectively. I’m eating some green tea ice cream to de-stress, 10/10 recommend. Also that was the first lab for the animation elective so that project is basically nothing. Its just to let us explore the software)
But yea, so I think I got a bit stressed because of those missed lectures as well as finalising my timetable which required me to switch between campuses (there are multiple university campuses across the city). Also because of this, I didn’t get to eat lunch which was bad since I also skipped breakfast...
(is campuses even a word)
So yea, I need to make sure I got enough sleep and to actually eat whilst in uni since most of the time I do not get home until 6pm :D
*Don’t be like me pls --- remember to eat!
ps. Its 1:45am so I should go to sleep soon.
pps. sorry for the increasingly bad quality of the pictures I take. also for my ramble-y posts
Day(s) of Productivity - 11/03/18 & 12/03/18
(I forgot to post yesterday so I’ll just include the pic here as well :D)
The photos are as follow:
- Me studying at the library yesterday. I’m just watching the lecture recordings (as me being me had already missed some lectures in the first week) as well as rewriting my notes.
- Me at the lab today. We’re using a new IDE, Eclipse, in class this year. So the lab was basically a tutorial in how to use eclipse as well as how to do testing on it. It was actually fun looking for the bugs and watching the test cases pass. Although I think that mindset won’t last long later on in the year...
Also all of my courses already have assignments... so that’s fun.
I’m taking 4 courses this trimester:
- Systems Programming
- Algorithm and Data Structures
- Software Development
- Animation and Visual Effects I (elective)
~Wish me luck~
ps. all the best to you guys as well!!! <3
