This beautiful Sohrai art work on canvas fabric from Jaya Dharma Saki Mandal is a collectable item. To welcome their winter harvest, to worship their cattle as the Goddess of wealth and to offer a thanksgiving to the forces of nature the tribal communities of Jharkand celebrate a festival called 'Sohrai' in the month of Oct-Nov. The tribal women decorate their mud houses with the layers of indigenous mud used in 5 different colours, repairing it after rains with the designs of flowers, fruits, peacocks, cows and other nature-inspired designs.
