The mind truly is a curious thing, popular to belief even when it’s “blank” you’re thinking of at least a sole thing. At the same time it can occasionally become flooded with thoughts which in turn feels as though one is being placed on a spindle, strapped into place, and set full speed with no brakes. In such events, everyone relies on their go-to comfort, a place to just relax, to forget the world and breathe. Setting out on a mission to reach the familiar place as soon as possible, the female scurried down winding sidewalks, navigating necessary streets at a steady pace without even an ounce of awareness. Though she’d always been a natural klutz, it never openly admitted or discussed until proven. Suddenly, she clashed into an object- no a person. Concrete ground was nothing short of cold and unforgiving, leaving a few skid marks on her palms to no surprise. Amidst it all, the incident took a fraction to register before stumbling forward in a frantic motion to check on the other whom seemed to have taken a rougher approach. “Are you alright?” Her eyes mimicked that of a deer in the headlights, caught off guard and unsure of how to proceed. “I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and then,” Catching a quick breath, she continued. “BAM!”
It's not a huge secret that Christopher is accident prone. Although he's very professional and has an aura of intelligence and sharpness around him whenever he's in his lab coat or leaning over one of his "patients", he's an awkward, clumsy turtle outside of his workplace and job related affairs.
There was not a place he was hurrying to, yet his pace was naturally quick. He was walking rather idly, turning the corners whenever he reached the part of a street where the scenery was not something admire-worthy.
He was just in the middle of reading one of the signs when he felt a body colliding with him. If it were not for his speedy pace and absent-mindedness, perhaps the collision wouldn't have been as hard and they didn't both end up on the ground.
While the girl seemed to have escaped any major injuries, Christopher was slightly less lucky. Once on the ground, he felt his elbows burn uncomfortably and as he lifted one of them up, he saw blood slowly trickle down his upper arm.
— ❝I'm bleeding.❞ He stated matter-of-factly before flashing a smile upon seeing the girl's reaction. ❝I think I'll be fine. I wasn't paying attention either, so you're not the only one to blame. This is more like a lesson from God that I should be more attentive next time.❞ He chuckled, finally raising to his feet before he held out a hand to help the girl up.
