Evgenia, Wakaba and Kaori at Universal Studios Japan
After watching this exhibition, I’m realizing that my lukewarm reactions in the past to Evgenia’s skating in the past are due to the really didactic nature of the choreography she has for competitive programs. I really loved this exhibition because it really flows with the music. On another note, this is one of few exhibition programs that have ZERO jumps - only breathtaking spirals, spins, and footwork.
I’m really hoping that Evgenia gets to have more of a say in program choice and better choreo that doesn’t look like its only job is to connect technical elements together next season, but this isn’t going to be very likely if she stays with Eteri.
