3. Biggest regret?
Leaving. Twice. Once when she was just a teenager and she left her little brother to get away from their parents; the second time when she left her girlfriend and essentially adopted younger sister for their own safety. Looking back she knows that the first time was out of necessity, but the second time was mostly selfish. She still regrets both deeply–especially because she was never able to find her gf and she never tried to find her brother. Now, for all she knows, all three of them are long dead.
5. If they could hang out with one famous person in 18th century American History, who would they want to hang out with?
W e l l most of the 18th century American famous people I can think of off the top of my head were shitty crusty white men, but fast-forwards awhile (and into another century) and I think she’d love to hang with the suffragettes!!
6. What’s their theme song?
My weakness lmao um i’m so bad at picking theme songs but maybe Santa Monica by The Front Bottoms
7. What fictional character are they most like? Was this an intentional or accidental influence?
Thinking about it, she’s very similar to Catelyn Stark from Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire (who you wouldn’t know but); they both are very maternal and protective over those who they consider their friends and family, they’ll do anything to protect those people, even if it means leaving them behind. They also are both flawed in different ways but. It’s unintentional tho.
13. If they can use magic, what’s their favorite spell?
She’s only ever used it the one time in the campaign but honestly at this point probably Detect Thought–she’s a very curious person and has no qualms about reading people’s minds, and tbh she probably would love to know what was going on in lots of people’s heads. Plus it makes her feel smart lmao
14. Most heroic thing they have ever done?
When she was a teenager–shortly before she left her family–a group of human boys ganged up on her and her little brother. They shouted insults at her, making fun of her being a monster, etc. She mostly didn’t mind–she was just worried for her brother, who they hadn’t realized wasn’t human. One of the boys lashed out with his sword and cut her, just as another noticed Sloan’s eyes and figured out they both had monster blood. Natlia lost it and attacked the boys with her magic, desperate to protect her brother. She almost killed the boys tbh, but she did it to keep her brother safe.
15. Most despicable thing they have ever done?
In her opinion, the worst thing she ever did was leaving Sloan without looking back. Well, the leaving really wasn’t the biggest problem. It was the best course of action at the time–her parents were bound to kick her out soon, anyway, and she knew he’d be safe with them. The despicable part comes in the fact that she never went back. She never even tried to go back, to find Sloan and see him again. She is certain that he feels like she abandoned him, and the thought still makes her sick, because she did. She put her own well being in front of his and she hates herself a little bit for that.
19. They have to go live on a deserted island. They can take one thing and one person. What do they take?
She’d take a book of some sort. I don’t know which, but it would be good and long and interesting enough to be re-read a couple millions of times. As for a person…honestly she’d probably rather go alone; she’s used to living in strange places alone, she’s comfy with it. If she had to pick, though, she’d probably go with her ex girlfriend or her brother tbh.
25. Favorite animal?
Oh shit ah. If she were an animal I think I’d go with owl, but she loves cats. She 100% had a cat back when she was a hermit living in the woods and she loves them.
27. They’re at a tavern. They bump into a big burly angry drunk with a combative attitude. What happens?
“Ahaha, er, excuse me. Just…walking here.” she’d probably try to politely slip away, and if that didn’t work she’d Shocking Grasp their ass and then bolt out of there as quickly as possible.
28. What do they do between quests?
She reads, a lot, because she’s a big old nerd. Hangs around with the crew, for sure. Probably watches Ulan train and cheers from the sidelines while shit-talking his sword lmao. Maybe sips wine while Nim gets shit-faced because if Natlia isn’t a wine mom I don’t know what she is. Also Natlia is REALLY into botany and gardening so, like, if there are any gardens around she’s probably knee-deep in the dirt helping with that.
29. Biggest positive and negative influences on their life and development?
The first really big positive influence would be her mentor who gave her pointers on being a sorcerer when she was a teenager and helped her figure out her magic. They were someone who she could always turn to and who taught her a lot. She actually lived with them for a year after she left her parent’s house. Next would be her ex and her exes little sister, Leigh and Ren. She’d been living alone in the woods for awhile when she met them, slowly growing grumpier and more misanthropic. When she met them and, eventually, let them stay with her and grew to love them, it reminded her that people aren’t all shitty and it’s okay to not be alone all the time. Third would be the squad, for a lot of the same reasons. After she left Leigh and Ren to try and protect them, she went into a really dark place. She was full of self-hate and all in all not doing great. She was starting to heal by the time she met the party, adventuring and keeping distracted, but getting a group of friends reminded her once more that people are good and things can be okay, even when the world around them is going to hell.
The biggest negative influence would be her parents. They went from emotionally distant to borderline emotionally abusive, scared that her unflinching pride in her monster blood and her magic would end up destroying the whole family. Her mother, who was full Tiefling, was full of self hatred and that bled deeply into her opinion of her daughter. Natlia tried to ignore them but a lot of fear seeped into her. She thought that she was dangerous to be around, that any humans that spent time with her would end up getting hurt. It’s why she left Leigh and Ren–she thought she was protecting them from herself. It’s a notion she’s mostly gotten rid of present-day, but it fucked her up for a long time.

hey uh kinda funny but im biracial myself even if i dont really look like it. i have light skin and my sister has dark tan skin, most people dont think we're related. genetics are unpredictable and interesting, anything is possible really. maybe make the siblings have different skin tones or hair color if youre unsure about not having accurate/enough diversity?
I’m just unsure of what her other half will be? Her dad is white and her mother was... I’m kinda leaning on Japanese right now? Or Pacific Islander? But her dad remarried an Jamaican American woman. Their boy (Theo) is dark skinned like his mom but hasl ighter colored hair like his dad...
I dunno I’m just... ALL MYPROTAGS ARE SO WHITE im trying to diversify... Maybe thats making it worse tho idk
