               @sokkief​​​​​​​  liked  for  a  healthy azula !

       𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫  𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐨𝐧𝐞  𝐨𝐟  her  favorite  places  on  the  palace  campus  would  be  the  kitchen  ,   they  were  ahead  of  her  times  .   after  all  ,   for  the  longest  time  the  princess  was  CONVINCED  that  all  the  food  brought  from  the  kitchen  after  the  war  was  POISONED  ,   and  would  always  make  a  guard  taste  it  before  she  ate  it  .   she’s  been  told  her  late  night  snacking  wasn’t  very  good  for  her  health  ,   but  she  thinks  it’s  BETTER  than  not  eating  at  all  .   golden  eyes  widen  in  surprise  as  the  other  enters  the  room  ,   dorayaki  in  her  hand  ,   bite  taken  out  of  it  .    ‘  uh  -  this  was  the  last  one  .  ’    makes  a  face  ,   feels  almost  bad  ,   a  far  cry  from  who  she  used  to  be  .    ‘  ...  sorry ?  ’

exhilaration rushed through her body as blue hues landed on a familiar figure . the sides of her lips tugged from ear to ear , almost not being able to contain herself . “ sokka ! ” suki waved a little bit too enthusiastically as she ran to him ,  literally throwing herself at him . excuse her , she hasn’t seen him in months ( shocking ! )   “ look at you ,  have you been working out ? ! ” was the first thing she blurted out as she peeled away , playfully punching his arm . gracious , how long has it been ?  she missed him , gosh she missed him if it wasn’t obvious already . 

“ you know , it didn’t occur to me that we’ve never been on a date,  ” the kyoshi warrior arms crossed on her chest . “ you’ve kinda never asked me out too . ”  giving sokka a pointed look , teasing him .  “ — then again , we were too busy either chasing someone or being chased . ” the war seemed like a distant memory now , still full of pain and loss , however it’s end brought about a new beginning for the whole world .  “ so , what did you have planned for us ? ”

katara rolled up her bed roll, glancing over at her brother, “you know it’s going to be okay, right?” she asked, binding the blankets, and what little padding she had together. “dad’s home now, and the war is over. it’s okay to leave for just a little bit,” she said. part of her felt like she’d had to drag him away to take this trip to visit their friends. “it’s not bad to just take a breather every once in a while.”

                    SHE   REMEMBERS   THEIR   MOTHER’S   face.   not   in   the   way   she   wants   to   remember   it    ---    smiling   and   full   of   joy    ---    but   how   she   last   saw   it.   terrorized   ,   but   with   her   chin   still   up.   protective.   it’s   the   other   things   that   are   fuzzy.   katara   can’t   remember   kya’s   favorite   flower.   there’s   a   memory   in   her   head   that   disappears   the   more   she   thinks   about   it   ,   but   it   feels   like   katara   was   sitting   next   to   their   mom   while   she   shaved   sokka’s   head.   “   am   i   crazy   ,   ”   katara   starts   ,   carefully   dragging   the   sharp   razor   against   his   hair   ,   “   or   did   mom   used   to   do   this   for   you?   ”
