whitehall is a story about children placed in horrible a horribly veiled attempt of a schooling system that intends to break them down and rob them of their autonomy and identities, to craft the perfect “nobility” or “soldiers”. it’s a story of systemic abuse and the way each character survives, breaks down, or suffers the consequences of attending that school. some escape, some don’t, and some become the system.

4. Movie of the year?

I cannot simply list one I fear so I will give you my top 7 I've watched this year in no particular order -- All About Lily Chou Chou, Picnic, Love Letter (those 3 all directed by Shunji Iwai), Train to Busan, The Handmaiden, and Heretic! I think if I had to list the most significant to me out of those it would be All About Lily Chou Chou bc it got me into new types of music and interested in movies more ^^
