The last ask made me want to write in about something I've noticed on Tumblr: a lot of younger mixed-with-white people saying they're white-passing when they're not! They may have light skinned privilege or look ambiguous, but they're obviously not white. The only reliable way to know you're white-passing is if white STRANGERS instantly extend you white privilege, because white friends/family are biased by both love & fear (their own white racial issues). I hope this can clear some confusion.

The manly man utilitarian minimalism approach to porn isn't some kind of universal default. A lot of readers like more setting and character and a lot of writers are happy to provide it.

my suggestion: just go down the Hugo and Nebula award winner lists for the last ten years and check out all the books by women of color. It's almost impossible to go wrong that way.
