“Solangelo prompt. Nico jealous. Really jealous. So he is in a “cuddle mode” in public (kiss, hugs, hoodies, soft words) and Will enjoys it. A lot. But with a blush.” - Anonymous

“Hey, babe, which tie do you think I should wear?”
Nico walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom where his husband was standing in front of the mirror, wearing a dark blue suit and holding a tie in each hand. Nico leaned against the doorway, smiling at Will’s handsome image.
He pointed at the one in his left hand. “That one, the blue will bring out your eyes.”
He walked over to Will in order to help him with his tie, fixing the fabric around his neck with sure fingers. When he finished, he let his hand rest on Will’s chest, reaching up to press a kiss to his lips. Will kissed him back, reaching up with his hands to cradle his head. Nico nipped his bottom lip with his teeth, causing Will to pull back with a soft laugh.
“Save that for after the gala, yeah?” he said. “I’d like to make it there with all my clothes on.”
Nico smirked and gave him one more quick peck.“And what a pity that would be.”
Nico turned around and gazed at himself in the mirror. His own suit and tie were black and purple respectively, and he thought him and Will looked like the perfect couple. He faced Will again and gave him a kiss on the cheek, because he couldn’t help himself. Again, Will laughed, and Nico just had to kiss him. Which led to another kiss, and another kiss, and--
They were late to the gala.

Will and Nico walked into the the fancy hotel made their way to the reception room, which was already filled with guests, namely the other doctors from the hospital that Will worked at. They were all chatting amiably, men in fancy suits and women in lavish gowns. There was even a string quartet playing in the corner.
“Swanky,” Nico commented as they each took a glass of champagne.
Will gently nudged him with his arm. “Thanks for coming with me, I know you’re not a fan of these things.”
Nico nudged him back. “You’ll just have to make it up to me later.”
Will smiled at him, and started to lean down to kiss him, when they were interrupted by one of Will’s coworkers.
“Will, I was wondering when you’d show up!” said the woman, throwing her arm around him for a friendly side hug.
“Oh, I just got a bit behind in getting ready--” Nico coughed discreetly into his fist “--but better late than never, I guess.”
The woman shook her head, her long earrings swinging with the motion. “You got me there.” She turned to Nico, saying, “You must be the husband I hear so much about. I’m Jenny Morgan.”
Nico shook her hand. “Pleased to meet you,” he responded.
The three of them struck up a conversation, until Will was dragged away by another doctor, leaving Nico and Jenny to have a pleasant chat. He discovered that they had a common interest in history, and they discussed the downfall of Rome until Jenny was whisked away by another gala guest.
Nico made his way to a waiter in order to return his now empty glass to his tray. He stood off to the side and looked around for a tall, blond head. He located him a ways away talking with a ginger woman. Smiling, he started to approach, then stopped when he was about ten feet away; up close, he could see that she was flirting with Will.
Will’s back was to Nico, allowing Nico to have a perfect view of the ginger. She was standing far closer than necessary, one of her hands resting on Will’s arm. She had a sultry smile, and threw her head back when she laughed at something Will said, exposing her throat. Leaning in close, she had the audacity to whisper a response into his ear.
Nico’s blood started to boil.
He strode forward purposefully, glaring at the ginger with each step. As he drew closer, she noticed his presence and pulled back, looking at him in confusion. Will turned his head to see what she was looking at, and he smiled when he saw who it was.
“Hey, I was wondering where--”
The rest of his sentence was cut off as Nico grabbed his shoulders, stood on his toes, and kissed him with a passion that he usually reserved for when they were alone and at home. When Nico pulled away, he noted with satisfaction that Will had a bit of a dazed look about him.
Nico then focused his attention on the ginger woman, who was standing there with her jaw slightly open. He slid his arm around Will’s waist and asked him, “Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friend?”
Will finally regained his senses, and blushed before answering. “Oh, uh, yeah. This is Linnea, she’s a nurse.”
Nico extended a hand. “I’m Nico, Will’s husband,” he said with fake politeness.
“Nice to meet you,” Linnea replied coolly, her face telling Nico that it wasn’t nice to meet him at all.
He didn’t care; he glared right back at her.
A voice from the front of the room announced that it was time for dinner, and the all made their way to their assigned tables. Nico expected Will to bid a goodbye to Linnea, and was surprised when he didn’t. That surprise didn’t last long, however, when Nico discovered that she was sitting at the same table as them.
Will and Nico said down, and Linnea seated herself on the other side of Will. Oh, it’s on, thought Nico as he ground his teeth together.
Waiters brought them their food, a predictable meal of chicken, potatoes, and a salad. Nico cut all of his food into bite-sized pieces right away, in order to liberate his left hand for the duration of the meal.
Linnea was saying something to Will about how she got into nursing when Nico raised his hand and rested it on the back of Will’s neck, subtly stroking the hairs there. Will choked slightly on his bite of salad, but otherwise managing to keep his composure except for the blush that was rising from his neck.
Nico looked challengingly at Linnea, who narrowed her eyes at him in return. Nice try, but he’s mine.
They continued to eat their dinner until it was gone, Nco’s hand never moving from Will’s neck. The waiters reappearing to whisk away their plates, and they were served chocolate mousse for dessert; Nico used this to his advantage.
He scooted his chair even closer to Will’s, and, ignoring the death glare he was receiving from Linnea, dipped his spoon in his dessert and brought it up to Will’s lips.
The blush that had persisted on Will’s face throughout dinner became even redder. He weakly chuckled, then in a rather unconvincing voice responded, “I think I can feed myself, Nico.”
Nico pretended to pout, saying, “But I think it’s better this way.”
His husband didn’t disagree, and opened his mouth to accept the spoon, keeping eye contact with Nico the entire time.
Nico smiled and returned his spoon to its dish, eating some chocolate mousse himself and sliding the spoon out of his mouth in a way he hoped was slow and sensual. His success was indicated by the way Will’s blush went to his ears.
Soon they had finished their dessert, and one of the speakers of the evening took the podium in the front of the room. He started to ramble on about how much this event meant to them, thanking everyone for their huge support. He talked long enough that Nico noticed that the blush had disappeared from Will’s face. Better fix that, he thought, moving his hand so that it rested on Will’s thigh.
Will, to his credit, didn’t jump or make any sudden movements. However, Nico noticed with satisfaction, his blush did return, dusting his cheekbones. Nico figured he could do better than that.
Leaning over so his lips were right next to Will’s ear, he whispered, “I love you so much. I can’t wait to go back home with you, to be all alone.”
And that did the trick. Will, with a very red face, (one that Nico thought looked beautiful), shifted his eyes to look at Nico. Nico smiled in return, and rested his head on his shoulder. Turning his attention back to the front of the room, he felt Will rest his head on top of his.

“Well, I’d say the evening went pretty well, wouldn’t you think?” asked Nico as they entered their apartment, fingers already going to loosen his tie.
Will came up behind him, resting his hands on his husband’s hips and pressing his mouth to the side of his neck. He kissed the skin there gently before saying, “You’ve been driving me crazy all evening.”
Smiling in victory, Nico turned around so he could kiss Will on the lips. “Then my plan was successful.”
“You planned all that?” asked Will, looking down at Nico.
“Only after I saw Linnea flirting with you.”
Will looked confused. “She was flirting with me?”
Nico shook his head slightly and smiled back at Will, responding, “It’s a good thing you’re pretty.”
“Hmph,” Will murmured. “Good thing for you. I’m planning on letting you appreciate how pretty I am all night long.”
Nico laughed as Will pulled him along to their bedroom, thinking that he couldn’t have gotten any luckier.
