Channeled my inner Starr and Ruby for this-

“I’m not seen as something to protect… am I?”

Solar’s voice numb and emotionless… Cosmos stayed quiet, their fists tightened slightly in regret.

Solar sighed and turned to continue working on his hand, “I knew it…” he paused, feeling disappointed and upset. “you can g-“ suddenly cosmos’s voice cut through and interrupted Solar “no, I never saw you as something to protect..”

Solar slowly turned to face cosmos, shock on his face, his eyes wide and seemingly tired. “Excuse me?” Cosmos kept a straight face, no smile, no lies, they stepped closer, “I never saw you as something to protect….” Solar was about to tell them to leave before they kept speaking, “because you were the one doing the protecting…”

Solar was stunned, he chuckled slightly. “Heh…what?” Cosmos continues. “You were the one protecting us… I never saw you as something to protect because you always did it first… Sun, Terra, me!! you always made an effort protect us… it never occurred to me you’d ever need protection…”

Solar was stunned and didn’t know what to say, he couldn’t find the words, but cosmos kept speaking, now explaining themself.

“Solar… when I died… you did everything to avenge me… and you made Jack to protect me… you came back from the dead, you killed the creator! Why… wh- you’re strong! So strong- I have rules to follow… he shut down the bounty… that is the opposite of a threat… I can’t kill him, I’m sorry… but the moment that bounty comes back, I can do something about it! And I will-“

“Cosmos…” Solar’s voice mumbles out, “I’m not as strong as you think… I’m scared… I’m Fucking Scared- for… everyone… I’m sorry for getting upset… and for being upset… I know you can’t just go around killing people…”

Cosmos’s eyes tears up and they walked towards Solar “I’m sorry-“ they mumble out… “I know… so am I-“ Solar said, offering a hug, Cosmos quickly hugged him “if he comes back, I’ll deal with him…” solar sighed after Cosmos said that. “Nah- I’ll deal with it…” Solar pulled away “just do me a favor… if something happens to me, tell nebula to watch over Jack…” Cosmos’s smile faltered slightly, “I mean… I would ask you,” Cosmos looked up at solar, slightly stunned “but I know that you guys met on some unwanted terms” Cosmos smiled, then laughed, “haha, don’t get me a puppy, when I didn’t ask for a puppy… heh” they laughed as they quoted themselves from the past… Solar joined in the laughter…

Cosmos left… a bittersweet goodbye… Solar’s smile faded molten walked up to him… “Solar… what are you thinking…?”

“…I’m going to kill the overseer myself…” Solar spat out with venom.

“Let me help you…” molten asked

But solar cut him off quickly… “alone…”
