Two years ago: #SolarFilms We met with the studio today and seen their work space. We walked by a room and seen my mom’s ité (face) on a screen! So we had to take a pic. ❤ Then we met with one of the editor’s—Yul and as he was running through some footage we seen Kristen’s mug up in there. Unči Lula Red Cloud is with us too. Sky, Floris, Tokata, unči, & tuwin LaDonna. ❤ We spoke on a panel at Helsinki University this afternoon and the professor Rani-Henrik Andersson introduced us in Lakota. He speaks the language fluently and also knows Jan. He is also friends with our family friend Christina Burke . Crazy! We just finished a press conference and it’s 10pm here. Yesterday we celebrated the premiere of Don Film’s and Solar Film’s feature film Se Mieletön Remppa that our Assistant Director team Iiris (1st AD), Paula (2nd AD), Hanna (3rd AD / FI unit) and Valtteri (AD trainee) got their hands on last summer! Also it was Solar Film’s 25th birthday party - congratulations! What a night! A fitting tribute to Filipino cinema as it celebrates its centennial this year, CIRCA relives the glory days of cinema through its characters – with the great Anita Linda (who at 94 is the oldest working actor in the industry) headlining the film about Doña Atang, a once celebrated film producer in the early days of cinema who wants to be reconnected with her peers as she celebrates her 100th birthday.
