Some Solar and Nova Fluff
What the Fuck is a Date?
Solar stared down at their walkie talkie. That was not the response they had been expecting. If Nova had been anyone else, they'd think she was trolling them, but Solar wasn't sure Nova even knew what trolling was. More importantly, how does one explain the concept of a date? That was like, explaining how to breathe or sleep.
"Solar? You still there?" Solar shook their head, coming back to the present.
"Yah, sorry. Do you, do you seriously not know what a date is?"
"Well, I've heard people ask what the date is, but I feel like that's not what you're referring to."
"Correct. Okay, um. So it's when two people are in a relationship, a romantic relationship, and they go out and like, do stuff together."
"What kinda stuff?"
"Like, going to the movies or a museum or going skating or having a picnic or something."
"What are those." Solar laughs a little.
"Well, a movie is like, a story told in pictures. Moving pictures. A museum is a place where old stuff is kept. Skating is like, gliding over ice. And a picnic is like eating in the cafe except outside."
"Ok. So we'd go a picnic?"
"We could. Or we could do something else. What we do doesn't matter, it's more about being with each other."
"Okay." There's a pause then, "Would we do it over walkie talkie?"
"No, we'd do it in person."
"Like, face to face?"
"Yah." There were a few minutes of silence. "Nova, you still there?"
"Yah. I've gotta go."
"Oh, alright. Talk later?"
"Yah. Over and out."
