I'm not gonna lie before I played dragon age Inquisition or and of the other games I saw people posting about 'solasmancing' and my brain genuinely thought it was like .... Sun magic??? I was like dope I'd love to have the power of the sun sign me up. Like 'sol' is sun and like 'mancing' like necromancy? Idk I was very let down when I didn't get to wield the power of the sun and just got dumped after an ass Grab smh

I already follow several dozen Solas-centered blogs (who knows, I might be following you already), but I want more balance in my feed and that apparently means even more of the bald man. Like, RB, etc. if you post or RB a lot of our lovely Egg. Art, screenshots/GIFs, fanfic, lore meta, basically anything but the strongest of smut (although I’m not entirely against that kind of thing if it's well-crafted and I do, in fact, follow a couple of lite smut blogs).

Query for my Dragon Age followers

Specifically, the Solasmancers. Spoilers under the cut for reasons, but I would like to hear what others have to say. :)

Update-- Can I say how happy I am that everyone else seems to share in my headcanon? <3

So I know that Weekes flat-out said that the intimate aspect of the Solas romance was up to player interpretation, but given what Solas said in Trespasser, it seems like they kept a chaste, if heated, relationship.

Two lines in question (as if you guys didn’t know them, lol):

Crestwood scene: ”Getting you into bed is just an enjoyable side benefit.”

Trespasser: “I did not [take you, presumably sleep with]. I would not lay with you under false pretenses.”

Originally, I interpreted the Trespasser line as him saying that he did not take her (in the sense of taking her for a fool, lead her on) as he felt guilty about not telling the whole truth and consequently ended it because he knew he would never be brave enough to tell her the truth. Based on everything I’ve written so far, it was under the assumption that they had an intimate, if brief, relationship before his guilt got the better of him and he called it off.

Rereading/watching the Trespasser scene, it seems like he might have just been flirting in Crestwood and that they did not, in fact, ever get intimate, mostly because Solas’ honor, guilt, and fatalism kept him reserved enough to head off any hanky panky moments. (Damn it)

So why am I asking this/why do I even care?

I ask because I'm wondering if I should go back and mark my previous fics as AUs, specifically, the ones where it’s implied (or flat out stated) that they’ve slept together. Or would that be too confusing, and should I just leave them as is, only marking the ones that clearly split from known cannon (because I want my happy endings, damn it)?

What do you guys think?

I don't suppose anybody can point me to a Cannon Divergent AU where Lavellan gets to go with Solas (a la Morrigan/Warden in the Eluvian)? I just... Need them to have a happy ending.
