And here is the current Southend Pier train, c. 1980’s version. Named after Sir William Heygate, a Lord Mayor of London who helped to get the pier built in the 1820’s. @tjtevlin @serpentinesheldonserpentine

SOLE TRAIN - THE BEGINNING...

So a few years ago when I was literally dripping with passion for dance...I wrote a short script and locked it away.

Last year I was chosen to be a part of East London Dance and Kate Scanlan's FI.ELD (Future Innovators East London Dance)

In June all FI.ELD members were given the opportunity to pitch our ideas  - I was one in four projects that were chosen to be commissioned.

I also applied for Ideas Fund Innovators (by Ideastap) to help fund this project...and there was silence until...

Lo and behold - I get an email this morning informing me that I got the funding...BIG YAAAAAYYYY!!

So I'm suddenly going from having written it years ago to now making it happen. Let me tell you it has been HARD but I cannot wait to see the finished product!!

Day 6: Using motivation from our Ragnar "Sole Train" theme phrase to get me on the treadmill today. Just the 2.0mil, 20mins—no time (or legs) for much else today, but good practice for the 8hr separated runs that are coming up.
