Devastated and heartbroken by the ongoing bushfires in Australia and thinking what can a drumbuilder from Switzerland do to help, i was greatly inspired by the post of my brother Steele from Kentville drums and Steve from Evett's drums in Australia. I built a one off instrument to raffle of. All the funds are going to @wireswildliferescue WIRES NSW protecting and helping the wildlife that was so massively effected by the fires. As a great animal lover and fortunate to have visited Sidney and greater NSW in 2011, i had to do something. It came to my mind that a friend from Australia brought me over some timber from Byron Bay last summer. Just enough to make a 13 x 6 snare drum. It is made of camphor laurel which is apparently an invasive species in Australia. None the less i made it sing and the lucky winner will have a unique Swiss/ Australian instrument. I will ship worldwide at no cost hopeful that there will be enough money raised. We all can make a difference but it starts within ourselves. The fires in Australia are the tip of the iceberg. So let us be kind to ourselves then we can be kind to others. Animals are still one of the most mistreated and forgotten ones on this beautiful planet.
