What do you think of the theory of "solido naso" having been a 3rd alter in the system as opposed to being one of diavolos aliases? (We know so little about it but i personally think it's fun alternating thinking about those two possibilities)
I mean, canon-wise, I don't think it really makes sense and I don't think it fits into the (canon) story very well. Diavolo seems to refer to and remember Solido's actions as his own (while he uses separate pronouns for Doppio). It also brings the question of what exactly happened to Solido since he evidently isn't present anymore (of course alters can change/go away/split/merge/etc IRL, but this is never mentioned in part 5, and alter splitting seems described very concretely as "your soul literally splits and grows into separate entities". It would be interesting if alters could just go away given that logic).
I also just think Diavolo being the one who had the relationship with Donatella is more interesting. The fact that it seems weird/unusual for him just makes you ask how he was at that age and how he got to the point you see him at. For that reason offloading his actions onto an imagined other alter defeats the point to me.
That being said I have absolutely no problem with people changing around how Diavolo and Doppio's DID is portrayed to be more true-to-life or personally relatable, so do what you want with that.
