Nawwaf Solis for Beyond the Pines by @themotherplant

Nawwaf's life has been full of ups and downs. His mother did her best to raise him as a single mom, but she struggled to keep a job and they were homeless by the time he was a toddler. She decided to make the difficult decision to give him up for adoption when she ran out of money to feed them.

As a child, Nawwaf was adopted by Brennan and Addisyn Solis. They moved him into their three bedroom high rise in San Myshuno and he immediately felt culture shock. It took him a while to get adjusted to always having more than enough and it still surprises him sometimes. He channeled his complex emotions into his art and was starting to show real promise. Then high school happened.

His first year of high school was one of the worst years of his life. Being a creative outcast with an Arabic name, he was the target of intense bullying. His parents tried to help him, but they lived a very privileged life and have never been able to truly understand his struggles. Something inside of him hardened that year and he came back sophomore year a changed person.

As part of this change, he started to work out all the time and gave into some of the high fashion trends that his classmates wore. He even gave up art and joined the football team. Now he could both blend in better and stand up for himself. However, he lost himself along the way and it all became twisted when he started to join the bullies. He even started to push them to go further, especially with the physical violence.

Flash forward to the end of junior year and he has officially been expelled. In just one school year, he got caught starting fifteen different fights and accused of ten others. His new found mean streak has even spilled over into his attitude toward his teachers and his parents. The final straw was when the last fight sent three boys to the hospital with one now having permanent brain damage from the severe concussion he received.

Nawwaf's parents are truly at their wits end about what to do with him. They adopted him later in life and are now elders just trying their best, but in truth they are scared of the path that he is going down. They have tried talking with him and just spend time with him to show that they are there. Unfortunately, it all just leads to arguments with Nawwaf leaving the room screaming at them. Feeling like they have no other choice, Brennan and Addisyn are enrolling Nawwaf in New Dawn to hopefully get back their quiet, creative little boy.

Spare Update: As they went up the stairs, the logical side of Rayne kept telling her that this was a mistake and that she was moving too fast again. However, every other side of her just knew that this was right. That this was meant to happen.

Rayne: "So why is your apartment empty? Unless that's too personal!"

Jesse: "Not at all. My daughter is with her mom this weekend. It feels extra empty without her laughter around."

Rayne: "It must be hard to see her go. My middle son is getting ready to move out and is even talking about marriage. I only have one son left before my home is empty."

Jesse: "Man, I don't know what I'm going to do when Gina moves away. But I must say that you do not look old enough to have three grown kids."

Rayne: *blushes* "Thanks"

Rayne: Oh hi. It's not really my thing anymore. I honestly feel too old to be here.

???: Same! But sometimes I just can't stay in my empty apartment anymore. My name is Jesse by the way.

R: *nervous smile* Rayne

Rayne: "Yesterday Wyatt decided to tell me that he didn't want to be a father anymore, but he still wanted to be with me. I proceeded to lose it on him."

R: "What do you mean you don't want to be a father?!? That's not something you can just stop being."

W: "Rayne..."

R: "No! You don't get to do this to our boys again! Not again!"

R: "Just leave. I can't look at you right now."
