☕ you can enjoy and love 'problematic' things (movies, books, tv shows...) as long as you're able to acknowledge the problematic parts and criticize them and don't just blindly just accept them. nothing's perfect and sometimes we should just let people live instead of condemning them because they enjoy a problematic thing. (i mean of course there's certain boundaries that shouldn't be crossed, but otherwise)
okay ngl when i started reading the notification for ur ask i thought u were gonna say “u can enjoy and love uwu culture” and thats.,.,.,,.no
but im glad you said this because i absolutely agree with your point. nothing’s perfect. nothing’s - and more importantly, no one - is ever gonna live up to the perfect standard because that’s just ridiculous and unattainable. it’s okay to fuck up, as long as you own up to it and are aware of it. that goes for us and for celebrities, too. like u said some things can’t be forgiven but most of the time there’s so much discourse (especially in bandom) about things that are just frankly irrelevant. people who go look for the tiniest details that can be sparked into discourse in bandom just... tire me. why do u have to be like this
