Seeing so many vents on this (and the other blog) regarding species that are or used to primarily be on instagram is.. kind of wild LMAO

Alumy, Sollems (who as far as I know didn’t do anything bad? The recent stuff I heard was the old owner deleted everything which is.. wow) Howltars— man I remember all of them from when I first got into CS, and they were big, too. Kind of strange to see them all popping back up around the same time.

I don’t really have any deep observations to make about this or anything it’s just an interesting trend I’ve noticed. CS on instagram seem to be dying out as a whole (which mechanically, makes sense— IG isn’t really the most conducive to hosting any species outside of adopts) but the correlation with them popping up on these blogs around the same time is definitely interesting. I’m sure there’s something more to read into there with the fact that instagram communities can kind of be.. a mess, to put things lightly, but I don’t know. It’s not my place to say. Those are just my two-cents as an outside observer and chronic lurker in the community.

I actually do have an answer for this via their official Instagram (as someone who used to be very active in the species, but mostly followed there). The previous owner (RegalFlowers) ended up deleting the old server, as well as their original Instagram account after it came out that she was scamming and ghosting people. That’s why there’s a new discord— unless something has happened since then, in which case, disregard this! The incident I know of was publicized in 2025, so if something else happened feel free to slap me with a newspaper and correct me, since I don’t really keep up with Sollems anymore.

This surprised me when I was scrolling through the Toyhouse species forums today!

Pretty sure the Sollems species revived after the Discord got nuked a year and some months ago (please lmk if I’m wrong - it’s been a while) and out of the blue. I remember the Beaver Blog talking about this one when it went down. Not sure why the owner or staff would spontaneously create a new discord when they so thoroughly destroyed their old one unless they’d have something to run from or otherwise shirk responsibility of, if I had to guess.

I’m not in Sollems, so I don’t have the full context of what’s going on. If the owner or staff has decided to mysteriously revive Sollems, please be careful if you want to join!

I know it says not to namedrop, but Regalflowers (RegalPeony on toyhouse) the creator and owner of Sollems, has recently nuked the entire Discord/Instagram relating to the species. Alongside this has been ghosting members that they owe commissions to for months and cut contacts to majority of their clients essentially scamming them.

This is very disappointing to see from someone like her whos been apart of the CS scene for years now, so I feel this is important to addresss. I encourage anyone who's owed commissions or art from her to reach out to the new Sollems server and charge back Regal or get a refund if possible as she shows no sign of willingness to finish the commissions and insists on hiding and ghosting her clients instead.

More rendering practice with one of my sollems <3 I think this is when the whole concept of DONT OVERBLEND finally clicked in my brain. I still have the urge to do it but I was able to curb it sufficiently <3
