The sound of a new voice stilled the tapping of her thumbs against the screen of her phone. Normally she was honed in the act of ignoring a stranger’s voice, however the proximity and nature of the conversation raised a brow. “It’s cute how you think I would wait this long for a man.” Bigit nudges the glass closer towards his end of the bar. “Bourbon and coke on ice.”
Warren didn’t miss a beat before lifting his shoulders. “Last I checked, jerk wasn’t gender-exclusive,” he pointed out. Sure, most of the women who came in here, sat at the bar, and then proceeded to check their phones a little too often… were waiting for men. But just because something had usually proven true, didn’t mean it always would. Still, he moved to make her another drink in a fresh glass, coming back with the exact same attitude. “So, are you gonna tell me about them… or do I need to pass my time somewhere else?”
