so i remember reading somewhere that winters mixed race (blasian) because her mom was indian. can anyone confirm is this is canon or just a hc?

It makes me so sad that Solstice hayles things likely didn't survive Levana. Imagine Winter finding a chest full of her mother's work. Dresses covered in trailing embroidery, exquisitely beaded and perfectly tailored. I think especially if she could fit it, that would bring her so much closure and make it feel like her mother, her real mother was still around.

The Levana thing really confuses me too because in an interview I listened to, Marissa named a white actor for Levana and I don’t get why she would have chosen her because she didn’t have any Indian heritage. I can’t remember the actors name but she didn’t look anything like Solstice and I was super confused when I looked her up at the time.

Since the tlc movies will be animated, it shouldn't be too much of an issue to portray Indian features with Caucasian colouring.

However if the movies were live-action, I do think they would need a white actress, because if they used an Indian actress and whitened her skin for the role, there would be a lot of racial backlash. The only other solution I could think of would be to superimpose some of Solstice's features onto the white actress playing Levana using CGI (if tlc was live-action, they would probably use CGI for the glamours anyway).

Plus, considering Levana is probably (?) Caucasian, a white actress would be appropriate. Unless Marissa confirms that Cinder gets her Asian heritage from her maternal side, that means biologically Levana is Asian (presumably East-Asian, since Cinder fits in in China).

But Levana's glamour doesn't look east-Asian. Imagine the backlash—some people will be saying Levana should be played by an East-Asian actress for representation, others that it should be a white actress for the accuracy of the glamour.

Yeah...that's a rabbit hole I don't want to jump down. So maybe animated is for the best!
