Hey all. Happy solstice week. Technically this sort of fits the childhood/family content prompt. So I decided to post it today , Monday the 15th. Better than when I meant to draft the post for the anniversary and posted it a day early. lol
Once again we have a short transition chapter. Physically all that happens is Jason and Piper walk through the hallway.
Mentally, Jason thinks about Thalia and How Hera stole his memories, and he is both intrigued and resentful about that. He wants to leave and he wants them back.
As least Jason has good descriptions.
“Disco-era reject”
-Sword that turns you into popsicle.
“She regarded Jason like an especially interesting science specimen- one she couldn't wait to dissect.”
Also we get our first onscreen Jipper moment. No flashbacks here. They hold hands. For reassurance. Piper POV would be squeeing over this.
It doesn't last very long though. Their tour guide turns Jason's hand in Piper's burning cold. Warmth is not a good idea here, especially when she is the best chance of survival.
He knows he doesn't have a real relationship with Piper but the longer he spends with her the more he wishes it was real.
He knows it's not fair to her. (And anyone he may have been dating back in his old life, but he's not thinking about her.)
Thalia never mentioned him to Annabeth. Did Thalia know she had a brother?
Another Christmas mention!
“Jason felt like he was a Christmas present she was hoping to open.”
Add that to the eventual bingo.
Khione (the princess) finally introduces herself. She loves heroes for their blissful ignorance.
She also offers to translate, and hopes they survive.
