Women's Day Challenge Day 7
It's been a week since I took up this challenge. For those of you joining in now, you can catch the beginning here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utx5PWeWi6Y&context=C43a166bADvjVQa1PpcFOEiHQ7oyESiDgDXquV0-aPfFBb_ter0Es=
Since then I have come to the sad realization that I am gravely miseducated on the issue surrounding the famine. I, like most others I am sure, have the general idea:
Late/little rains = little/no food = hunger + starvation = death (due to prolonged starvation)... and such is the story of famine in Africa.
However, there are gaps in the details. In order to come up with permanent and effective solutions I realize that I need to learn the details. For years we have tried to approach this issue with a one size fits all formula (collect money + donate food = no hunger) without paying particular attention to the underlying causes that may be different in each region. So my goal this week is to learn the details and hopefully the solution is in the details.
Please share any details you may have as well.
Thanks
A
