God I’m so fucking sick of percabeth anti’s.
I want you to look me dead in my pupils and tell me how Percy feeling guilt about almost killing somebody is Annabeth’s fault. How can you lack this much media literacy to come to this conclusion?
I hate whenever percabeth anti’s use this scene to say percabeth is toxic because of the way Annabeth acted.
This scene is actually very similar to another scene in the Sea of Monsters but the roles are reversed.
Percy had Polybotes begging for mercy (just like Akhlys) and was about to kill him before he stopped himself, even when annabeth, Grover and Clarisse all told him that he needed to finish it (a parallel to the same scene in the odyssey)
The scene is reversed in HoH and what people are missing is why. It’s because Annabeth knows Percy wouldn’t kill anyone. He hesitates to kill enemy demigods in TLO. He doesn’t even try to kill Luke half of the time they interact. So when Percy almost kills Akhlys, he’s no longer him. He’s a nuclear bomb with a temper. He’s acting like Luke.
And it scares her.
