I don’t think we as a fandom realize how INSANE the achilles spot is for percabeth. He hasn’t really processed his feelings but when he gets in the river styx, Annabeth pulls him through. He imagines Tyson, his brother. He imagines Grover, his best friend. He imagines his mother, Sally fucking Jackson, and it’s not enough

But you know what is?

Annabeth Chase. She is the thing keeping him there. She is quite literally the reason he stays alive. That is his Annabeth.

Thinking about the tradition of weaving shrouds to burn after the quest is done. Thinking about how Annabeth probably spent the better part of a year just weaving Percy’s whenever she was stressed out about him potentially dying before his 16th birthday, so she had to stay prepared

I always see everyone talking about that scene where Hades covers his ears and tries to ignore Nico talking to him, but I hardly see anyone talking about the scene where Hades sends Nico to his room, I find this scene so funny for some reason, he genuinely told his son that he was grounded, if it weren't for Hades saying "your sister would do better" earlier this scene would be one of my favorites bc its so funny. Also, Hades trying to threaten Percy and the only thing Percy was thinking about was how he would strangle Nico for betraying him, I genuinely laughed at these pages. Hades acting like an educator and Percy freaking out 😭

See, it’s times like these where Percy wished that they still had their heavy hitters geared up for battle. It already put them at a heavy disadvantage when Hades pulled Nico to the Underworld to be benched. Clarisse’s genuine refusal to fight was just another nail in the coffin.

Pjo headcanon:

Percy never lets someone stand behind him. It was especially bad in the in between period of The Last Olympian and The Lost Hero. He only lets Annabeth and Sally stand behind him and eventually the seven but it takes some time
