Want to see me at GalaCon?

Hey everyone! As you all know, GalaCon is coming up later this year, and yours truly has been invited to perform once again.

Unfortunately there is one small snag. This time around, due to them working hard to secure some spectacular guests from the other side of the ocean, the con are less able to help out community guests with the costs for travel and accommodation - meaning yours truly is left with a bit of a conundrum.

So, I figured the obvious thing to do is to appeal to you guys, the community, as I know from personal experience that you’re all lovely people.

If I’m gonna go, I’ll need some financial assistance. I’m gonna provide a link in this post to where you can donate if you feel like you can help. In the interests of transparency, here’s the budget.

Total cost, estimated: £500, broken down as follows: Plane tickets: £180 ~ £250, depending on when I can book. Hotel: Approx £216 for the three nights total that I’ll need. Remainder: Trains, food, that’s it.

I’ve been told that so long as I can make it to an airport close to the con, they’ll help me get from there to a hotel.

If you've been talking to someone for almost a year who really lives far away, you two were dating for 6 months until you tell him/her you can't go there because you now can't afford it (like you said months before (because in that time you could)). So you two keep talking (like ""friends"" (who are still in love (at least one)), time passes and you note he/she doesn't reply, he/she doesn't pay attention to what you send, etc.. Then you get tired of that sh*t and (because you use that app just w that person) delete an app. Some days before he/she text you saying anything, after that you two talk again. One of the main problems to go there was that you couldn't use your passport because it was defeated (but you months before did all the paperwork for a new one). Then you finally get a notification (after 3 months) that your passport is ready. You tell him/her about it (he/she already know about the problem w the passport), it doesn't make any change on how he/she treat you. The next week you get the notification, you look for your passport and tell him/her your have it with you. Suddenly you note he/she changes, and also tell you to go there now and stuff. At the same time he/she tells you that you need to Skype or FaceTime (when the last time you did that was a day or two before you two broke up, and he/she didn't ask for it anymore until now). What would you think about that person? With that behavior? Would you think he/she still loves you? Or what?
