What am I trying to say?

It’s not the first time I’ve caught feelings for a friend. I don’t think it will be the last time. But maybe I’m not in love. Maybe I somehow conflate it with new friendship energy? Somehow, I doubt it. At least this time, the pull is not as strong.

And maybe I have learned the lesson? Or I’m too scared it could end badly. Perhaps, that is why the pull is a weaker one.

So what happens when this new friend, who has hinted that I might be best friend status, starts dating and finds someone to spend more time with? It seems to be happening sooner than I expected it would. The future is starting to look lonely again.

The universal constant: things change. What else can I do but roll with it?
