Ranking the MCU Films: #19

Number 19 on my list is Thor: The Dark World... 

...because if siblings trying to save their reality doesn't help them to get along, very little will. 

Honestly, I don't know how this is not the outright worst film in the MCU for me. Many other people have put this as the worst film in the MCU. However, I don't have it in me to call this film worse than Hulk. 

I've heard it said that up to the sequel for this film, it seemed more possible to have a Loki without Thor than the opposite. While I'm not sure that's a great thing to say about the guy the film trilogy is named after, this does say a lot about Tom Hiddleston’s performance of the god of mischief over the MCU. Loki is one of the best overall characters in the MCU and I'd argue he gives his best performance in the franchise in this movie. 

And despite Natalie Portman’s reluctance to return, I also enjoyed the further development of her character's relationship with Thor, even though this is the last film where this happens. The ending of this film provides an interesting message in Thor opting to stay a good person than take the crown. 

Looking back, it's only a slight shame he doesn't truly achieve this aim so far. While this film seemed pretty lackluster, this would prove to be the last film Marvel Studios would make that I could say this about. 

At least for now. (Please be good, Captain Marvel.)

This girl was obviously the embodiment of punk rock. Kiku had seen many, many types of fashion all throughout the world, but hers was striking and called out the attention of just about anyone that passed her by. There was also a guitar on her back as well. Was she into music?

Honestly I hated the whole “you’re having a gay crisis” speech Dom gave Lofty as much as everyone else (not as much as Lofty though probably lmao), but now that I watched the Lee storyline, dear G-d I get it. That was a nightmare. Poor Dom. The more I watch the more I can’t wait for him to finally have a decent relationship smh.
