Do you encourage fanfic writing/reading to your students? Just curious. Some of the fanfics can be NSFW or disturbing, & they're all pretty easy to access.

Admitting to writing/reading fanfiction can be very difficult. This is true for me too. My kids have no idea that I write fanfiction at all. I have had a few students mention it to me in private, and I always encourage it because: 1. My job as an educator is to encourage them. Not destroy their dreams.2. They should have a chance to write about what they like. Research shows that it makes them better readers and writers.3. That's a hobby, and hobbies keep kids off the streets.I need to also say that I work in a very low income, urban district. It's common to see them pregnant or going to jail. I figure none of it is stuff that they haven't been exposed to by Hollywood or their friends before. If anything, fanfiction might offer some of them an escape from whatever's going on in their lives. I also know that an adult telling them not to do something rarely has the desired effect. I teach them as best as I can to make good choices, and then I sort of.... release them into the wild...

I'm gonna ask a question I asked before, but modified: is it possible to have Victor's parents be happy or not have a severed relationship with their son while having Victor happily married solely, non-poly, to Alice? Kinda mouthful lol.

It is! Sort of, anyway. In the Forgotten Vows Verse, when I was writing that chapter in “Remembering You” where the Van Dorts, the Whites, and Nanny all showed up at Houndsditch and ended up having lunch with Victor and Alice and the children, Nell surprised me by being willing to at least somewhat accept Alice thanks to a) her son openly saying he ran into a burning building for her and b) Alice having known a few famous people thanks to her father being a Dean at a prestigious university. It’s not a perfect relationship -- Nell makes no secret of the fact she still would have preferred the titled Victoria or Adelaide Kingsleigh, and she likes to hound Alice about establishing friendships with all those rich and important undergraduates she barely remembers (you’ll see some of this in “Fixing You”) -- but Victor and Alice figure it’s better than Nell being outright cruel. Things are a bit strained, and likely always will be (Victor never quite forgives his parents for Bumby), but they can talk civilly and exchange letters and things like that.

In other universes. . .well, in most I think eventually the elder Van Dorts will just become resigned to the fact that their son is going to marry someone not of their choosing and make the best of it (though Nell is likely to complain loudly to William for a while). I think there needs to be another complicating factor to truly smash the relationship, like William and Nell’s hatred of Touched in Secundus. Bottom line, while I don’t know if the Van Dorts will ever be truly happy about Victor marrying Alice, they can tolerate her and the relationship can continue, if on more distant terms.

So any theories why Raven has red hair? Or that it changed colors when she was Night Gale? The game director has so many subtle things that I can't help but be suspicious of this little bit. :O

I think that’s probably just a design thing. ;) She doesn’t have that red bit as a kid, so it’s implied that she dyed it, establishing her as the ‘rebel’ character. And I have no idea why mind control makes her hair change colour. ‘tis a mystery!

Thank youu ; v ; I really forced myself to finish haha, but in the end it was definitely worth it!! I’m planning on making two more, but right now im pretty drained so it might be a long while before i make them. Or I might do it in a different style (webtoon/manhwa style? idk yet) because digital lineart and screentoning are NOT my friends lmao

Bahaha, I'm getting so many mood whiplashes with Eastern Suns & Butterfly. Don't you get confused with your fics? You still have a lot of WIP. :D

I compartmentalize fairly well. And the AU’s and personalities are so different that it’s really not a problem. I do feel a little guilty about my poor baby Amaryllis. I’ve sort of sidelined it. But I know I’ll finish it eventually, too.
