Sacratomato Festival: Sutter’s Fort is the platform for the Sutter District’s celebration of all things tomato. Sacratomato is a free, large-scale family-friendly festival that includes an on-stage salsa making competition, a tomato tasting garden, lawn games, a hands-on “Tomato Patch” area for kids – with face painting, balloon creations and a grow-your-own tomato activity – tasty foods for sampling and/or sale by Midtown restaurants and bars, cooking demonstrations by the area’s top chefs, Midtown Farmers Market vendors, entertaining live music — by Skyler’s Pool (featuring the husband/wife team of Paragary Restaurant Group’s Executive Chef Kurt Spataro and KFBK’s Kitty O’Neal), Element Brass Band and Conjunto Liberacion (salsa band) — plus even a beer, craft and Bloody Mary cocktail area for adults. 4-8PM. Elevate: An Art Exhibition Reveal Party: Be in the company of Sacramento's notable artists, creatives, and art enthusiasts at Arden Fair's Elevate Reveal Party. Tiny Book Show & Workshop: Brick House Art Gallery hosts this inventive show and workshop. The Tiny Book Show is a mobile exhbition of minature books housed inside a 1965 Covered Wagon travel trailer and curated by The Creativity Caravan. The mobile arts, and education centered organization, headquartered in Northern, NJ, will be bringing its collection of books on a summer long cross country tour. Poets and educators Maya Stein and Amy Tingle, founders of The Creativity Caravan, will be offering a unique, hands on book making workshop as part of the exhibit stop. 1-5PM.
Quentin Tarantino Night: Head to B-Side for an evening of ALL QUENTIN TARANTINO! Costumes encouraged. Shaun Slaughter will be spining iconic music from films including Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds, + more. Drink specials. 21+ 8PM- close. No cover. Twelfth Night: Sacramento Shakespeare Festival presents this one night only performance. High school students from the Sacramento area work and learn along side some of the area's finest artists in the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival Intern Company program. Twelfth Night is the culmination of their program, a 45 minute performance on the main stage. 9PM. Free.
