okay i never picked up on this before but the fact that Russel, god's second greatest legion hater, pronounces Ceasar as with the legion pronunciation is everything to me.

like in the context of how a huge part of his deal is coping with his whole "entire childhood as a slave thing," by being the most Desert Ranger to ever Ranger the Desert, it showcases in a really subtle way just how deeply that time of his life affected him. how even decades after the fact, part of him still feels like and is influenced by the scared, helpless kid subjugated by the legion he once was.

idk it just gives me brainworms and ik it was intentional bc he was written and voice acted by the same guy.

love it when a game mechanically punishes you as the player for decisions that while standard in a video game are logically bad ideas, in a way that really makes you feel and connect with the story and main themes on a whole nother level. makes you feel like your actions have real weight and genuinely makes you consider if it's worth it to proceed. contend with the fact that you did this to yourself and for what?

still obsessed with how the someguy series nudges the player character into a redeption arc by locking increasingly frequent mercy/empathy diolouge options behind low skill checks, since players are statistically more likely to choose a diolouge option that requires a skill check.

the first half of the inheretence is great because it's just the courier giving some random guy with daddy issues a midlife crisis and becoming his enitre support system by accident it's like
