Sadly, I haven’t watched Soul Eater, but I can dish up some Adrinette!
Adrienette 15 – “So, I found this waterfall…”
“Marinette, over here!” Adrien’s voice pulls Mari only slightly out of her focus.
Tounge sticking out, and eyes glued to the screen, she changes her facial expression just slightly - tipping her ear towards him and raising her eyebrows - to indicate to him that she was listening (even if she was distracted).
“Are you listening?” He asks from his position beside her on the couch.
“Mmmmhmm,” she acknowledges, jabbing her thumb furiously on the controller.
She hears him sigh before continuing, “Mari, if you’d stop running the other way on the screen, I could show you something cool.”
Marinette pauses after the enemy she’d been fighting finally passes out (it took so many hits), and looks away from her character to his face.
“What is it?” She asks.
He gives her a sly look, one that makes her stomach flip and her heart warm, and says, “so…I found this waterfall.”
She smiles, “the final boss’s hideout?”
“Exactly,” he says with a grin.
“Well then,” she laughs, bumping her shoulder against his. “Let’s go kick some ass.”

edit: okay, i know i’m being a little shit and you mean maka but the way this fandom has pigeonholed marie into either the angel trope or the mom trope makes me hesitant to support ‘this one is my kid now’ type ideas/headcanons because it often ignores marie’s more complicated and worthwhile facets of characterization in favor of turning her into a neat and tidy mother figure for characters that the fandom cares more about
