Prompt 3 - Frostbite

Remus woke up to a blanket of snow. He looked out of the dormitory window and sighed at the beautiful sight. No one had ventured outside yet, and even the local creatures had left the sloping grounds untouched. The snow would be completely rucked up by lunchtime as there was no way a snowball fight wasn’t happening, probably started by him and his friends.

He heard movement behind him and the soft pad of Sirius’s feet across the wooden floorboards and stopped just beside him.

“Wow,” Sirius breathed, his warm breath fogging up the glass. “Get dressed, Moony, we’re going to go build a snowman,” Sirius clapped him on the shoulder as he turned back to his bed to get dressed. “Don’t forget your gloves, don’t want you to get frostbite,” Remus rolled his eyes at him but was excited to get outside, so he got dressed quickly and grabbed his gloves before chasing Sirius all the way down to the grounds.

Remus ran after Sirius through the entrance doors and was hit by the silence and stillness that fresh snow brings. He was pulled out of his revive by a snowball to the face. Oh, it was so on.
