Day 02 - trinkets
Robron Week 2021 - Day 2 - Quote
Day 167:
Sprout spent many an evening lying by BogSprout’s grave, telling her his problems. They had been apart for some time, but before her end they had been getting along quite well. She was always a good listener, he felt better talking to her even though he knew she couldn’t hear him anymore.
BudSprout sometimes finds her mate lying by his past mate’s grave. Does he miss her that much? Is he unhappy with her? First she lost her cousin and now this...can nothing go right in this clan?
--
I wanted another piece for BudSprout and I could only think of drama.
Dusk
In which Morrigan finds herself caring for others, and doesn’t like it one bit.
As the shadows of the trees grew darker and longer, and the sky’s pink began to fade into a deeper purple, Morrigan finally started to let herself acknowledge the racing of her heart and lightness of her head.
She sat under a large tree, with the unconscious warden’s head in her lap, as she worked her healing magic on the girl. Less and less light peaked through the treetops, and it seemed as if the fade was actively working against her.
In this moment she remembered being younger and foolish, asking her mother for more healing lessons. Her mother had laughed and told her she had learned enough. “Enough for whom, I wonder.” Morrigan said through gritted teeth, to no one in particular.
A gust of wind blew through, and a chill went through her. “Come now,” she snapped, to the fade or to the warden or to anything at all, “I will not allow this.” She made a final, snapping movement, a desperate pull at the veil, and the warden’s eyes fluttered open.
