So that's literally twice today that I've been unreasonably irritated by a "character wakes up in the hospital with amnesia" fic. Twice! For the same reason.

They wake up. Their sibling is there. A doctor or nurse pops in and goes "wow nice to see you up ttyl" and NOT ONCE does this medical professional ask any sort of "Tell me your name. Do you know where you are?" etc. type question. Holy shit I got that much after an outpatient surgery!

It's a basic check! This guy has been in a coma! He's not a nobody with no health insurance!

And then. And THEN. After discovering that our main character is missing more than a year's worth of memories, does the sibling press the call button and get a nurse or something back in there? No!
